Finished coordinating with the State Fair exhibit director and groundskeeper. Repeating geocaching at the Alaska State Fair for 2008 is a GO! Plan for 10 caches/multi-caches with perhaps a sprinkling of reverse caching if I can get Ki-La-La to pose for a few more shots. Stand by for clues and other information...

Sounds like I might go to the fair after not going for about 10years, thanks for getting me back out there, It usually conflicts with Moose hunting season but this Sounds like it will be fun too!

So is this an event that is held on one particular day or these caches are out there for the entire time the Fair is going on? This sounds like loads of fun.

Great! love the caches out at the fair, I will be doing medical stand-by both weekends so no getting injured and slowing my caching down! If you see someone in Orange hanging out at the caches, say hi please.

This is just a quick note to answer some of the questions that pop up...the caches are their the entire fair, and I maintain them daily. I lost only one cache last year, so props to everyone for being sneaky. Some were hidden right in the middle of everything, on lamp-posts, etc. I am refraining from a large multi-cache this year, so if a stage gets muggled, it doesn't derail the entire thing.
Expect Nate Grumbyism episodes of humor, but unfortunately, the Fair nixed me placing a micro on the axe-throwing target at the lumber show. And I haven't gotten a farmer yet to shear coordinates onto a sheep.
Rats.
As for you, Mr. AKEMT, you were the FTF for a majority of these caches last time, so perhaps you should give everyone else a head start this year. Honestly, it looks like you're trying to keep everyone healthy, but I know the GPS is hidden somewhere in all that gear. I can hear it now...
"I'm just checking the air quality...carbon-monoxide levels, you know" he says as he wanders the entire grounds...
More instructions, tidbits, and spoilers soon!

I will not be out this year until the evening of the 22nd and will not start logging any caches (I might look though ) tell Saturday and to be really nice not tell after 1200. I just got real excited combining my two favorite hobbies into one.
