I am currently negotiating with Pam (of the Alaska State Fair Board) and the groundskeepers at the fairgrounds to reprise geocaching at the Alaska State Fair. I should have something to announce by the middle of next week.
Please stand by...

That is awesome. If it helps the cause let them know that last year they (the Fair) got a repeat customer out of me and three others because of the Fair caches. I have to say that the Fair most often bores me as it is the same year after year. But last year solely because of the Fair caches I had the most fun I have ever had at the Fair and have been waiting for this years Fair only if you do the Fair cache thing again. Otherwise I won't be going, again because it the same year in and year out.
But Nate Grumby makes the AK State Fair a must attend event!!!!
Thank you for all the work you put into the Fair caches, they were incredible. I can't wait to see what you come up with this year.
my 2 cents

I've not had the privilege of trying for the Fair caches... I might get to try for them this year.
Kudos to NG for not only setting out a terrific series, but doing it in a way that respects the 'permission' guideline for geocaching in a spectacularly grand fashion!!!

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that you will hold it on a Sunday (I work on Saturdays ) because I would be there (and Lemurlad, too) 110%.

Also, if it's not off-topic, they are selling 4-packs of tickets (4 adult or 4 youth/senior) to the Alaska State Fair at Costco. So, there's some savings to be had in addition to a really good time should we get permission for Fair Play 2008 :-)

My idea is for this year is Olympic-themed. We'll see. I am rather quirky, and hiding a cache at the world record high jump height has some appeal. Also, if I could involve a pole-vault somehow....makes my brain go "hhhmmnnnnnn,,,,"
