I'm an Alabama teacher (gifted ed/spec ed/science) planning to come to a workshop in early August in Anchorage. I want to get a little caching in while here (esp. the Cache Across America Alaska) and I'm also looking for resources, materials, other things I can take back to my students.
I don't know if your schools are in session then-ours are, I'm available to speak to your kids, etc-I have a NASA flight suit, and other Alabama type items to share.
We (my husband will probably come with me) are just looking to make the most of the short time here. Are there any events, etc even in the planning stages August 8-14? Thanks for any information-I visited Fairbanks on a mission trip in 1990.
Anyone heading to Alabama, just let me know!

Warrenpeace is a school teacher in Anchorage and is involved in teaching Geocaching to students, he may be able to help you or tell you who to talk to.

The Anchorage School District begins classes on August 22 - so you will miss that, sorry. There may be some summer camps still in session, but most of them quit early. Will think on it.
