Is anyone interested in tackling the final for the Death of Sherlock Holmes? It is a multi that published earlier this summer which has gone mostly undiscovered and would be a very nice cache to grab as a group. I know some have already got the first half of it and have not gone after the final. Would anyone like to meet and go after it? We could either meet for dinner (Guido's is a good place, I am thinking we could have bimonthly social events at Guido's as this seems like a fun way to get groups together for a few group cache runs plus it would give everyone the numbers they covet so much...just an idea) on Thursday night and and then go grab the final (this would mean you would have to go get the first stage on your own) or we could meet at Little Campbell lake and go grab the first stage and then go after the second stage... it does take a bit to do the final stage of this cache, but it is very much worth it. Any takers?

Yes, absolutely... but I can't Thursday. I have a standing arrangement every Tuesday and Thursday night I can't miss. But if you want to do it Wednesday I would definitely be in.

Weds would work for me, I normally have meetings but this week I do not. I have been there already and would like to go again, and it is a fabulous cache, so the more the merrier.

Got pretty close today after visiting stage one yesterday, but the junior ladybugs had already had a full day of berry picking and DNFing another puzzle cache. The final definitely looking like it will be a great trek. Can't commit to an evening this week yet, but keep the board posted and I'll try to join the group.
I'll also defer to Dr. Moriarity if he would prefer folks to have a more individual experience on this cache rather than crashing it as a group. Or, maybe the good Doctor would join us if it's promised he won't be fed to the seals.

I can do Wednesday. Probably best for me to meet the group at parking for stage 2 to minimize time away from home during the junior ladybugs' evening before bed.

5:30 Guido's. If you have not done the first half, I recommend going for it today in the rain. If people have not done the first stage and want to go get the entire thing tomorrow, we will either need to meet at Little Campbell Lake around 5:15 and go grab it and then go to Guido's or meet earlier at Little Campbell Lake and grab it. We run out of good daylight around 8:30 tomorrow as sunset is at 8:14pm. It takes a bit to get to and grab the second half and being there for sunset will be awesome. If you have the first part and do not want to come to dinner or cannot make it, meet us near the final (the best parking is not where you think it will be) at 7:30 and we will hunt from there. I know of around 6 who will be coming for dinner. Please respond in this thread if you are coming and we will make sure we wait for you. See you tomorrow. Cache On!

I think I can make it around 5:30p. If Dan drops me off at Guido's would someone be able to drop me off at my house after the find? ::looks pitifully in Greg's direction::
If so, I'm definitely in.

Wednesday, 5:30pm at Guido's Pizza. We will eat and head for the final location. This should get us there with plenty of time to find it and see the sunset. I will drop you home on my way Antonia. I will see you all tomorrow. You may want to bring your rain coat just in case

Flyrfn and I are going to try to make it. I should be able to grab the first part in the early afternoon, since I get out of work early. If we make it, we'll be at Guido's close to 5:30 (or definitely before everyone's done eating); otherwise, no need to wait, we'll catch you at the next one.

Greg - I think I'm going to drop Dan off at home and change into some caching clothes, so I'll probably be at Guido's around 6p-ish and will have my own wheels. Thanks for being willing to drop me off, tho. See you then.

Thanks everyone, I had a blast just like all the other times. Wish we had saved that final beer for O'Brady's after the find. Also wish I hadn't left 3 really good flashlights in the truck. Also wish my dog hadn't rolled in something really stinky......

At least some folks got a beer...I forgot to pack my own ! That was fun. This location is worth returning to with more daylight time as it's really special. I could have sat on the rocks for a lot longer. Need to go back and search for the 1912 era benchmarks, too. Great seeing familiar faces and meeting Antoniadodge and Tease68, too. So, what's the next challenge?

I couldn't have been crawling around on pine needles and stepping in mucky silt with a better crowd of people. LBK is right - that IS a special place. I will definitely be returning. And to Moriarty (IF you happen to read GA)... thanks for the cache, you shady, criminal element.

Was just asking Lemurlad tonight what our next group attack should be. Would love to do Scramble Dog. Maybe after we sober up on Sunday after the Indian Summer. Or split it between 2 nights next week. We are losing daylight quickly so not sure about beer, pizza and caching much longer without hunting in the dark. Anyway, just my 2 cents. I will be there for whatever we come up with.

I like that idea of a group attempt on Scrambledog. With diminishing daylight, I would go for cache first, beer and pizza afterwards. And, based on past finders' logs, we should plan on two or three evenings to get it done, especially if one of the puzzles stumps us.

Why not on a weekend? We could meet in the parking lot at 8:00am with our bikes.
Well maybe not that early but say noon and just knock it out. And maybe drink a beer afterward.

Unless you are a crazy, I mean a good biker you'll push the bike a lot the first half. but would come in handy for the 2nd half.

Had this one figured out for along time now, but haven't had the chance to get it finalized. Guess we will have to do it later . Hopefully before winter. Wish we could have joined the group. Have fun.
