GeocacheAlaska! Trek Tag Recall Anyone who has purchased a Trek Tag from us since May 2014 needs to contact coinsales@geocachealaska.org immediately. If you still have the tag in your possession, do not activate it, and send the tracking number to us at this email address right away. If you have activated the tag, let us know if you have it or if it was released to travel. We have learned that our manufacturer accidentally put the wrong tracking numbers on our last batch of tags. These numbers already belong to other trackables that we sold and may still be unactivated. When you send us your tracking numbers, we will be able to tell you if your tag is good or needs to be replaced. The manufacturer is producing replacement tags that have the right numbers, so we will be able to exchange a good tag for your bad one as soon as we have those in hand. We apologize for the inconvenience and will make this right with anyone who ended up with a bad tag. Thank you for promptly contacting us if you have a Trek Tag that you received within the last 3 months. GeocacheAlaska! Inc. Board of Directors

Update: We have been working through our inventory and found that 100 out of 200 tags recently ordered had bad tracking numbers. We have most of the bad tags in hand. There may have been a small number of bad tags sold at Anchorage and Ketchikan events starting in July at the GIFF event and continuing up until a week ago. An easy way to tell if your tag may be bad is to look at the attached image. All of the bad tags have text that is shadowed in a band of laser etching with a darker moon and etched wolf. All the good tags have etched lettering with a lighter moon and tag color wolf. If you have a tag that looks like the bad one that you bought sometime since the beginning of July, please contact us so we can verify it is good. Also, if you tried to activate a bad tag, the activation code word printed on the package insert will not work.
