My polypropylene gets rank after caching in the snow and Nordic skiiing if I don't wash it often enough . Oh, that wasn't on topic? #4 in Alaska, barely ahead of AKBikenSki and WAY behind Tundra Tim. Been hanging around #3000-#3100 worldwide for the past several months. What's been most interesting to me is watching the increase in participation in Alaska and worldwide. I was the 16th Alaskan to find 200 caches (the point when someone first makes "the list") in June 2005 and now there are 54 Alaskans who have reached that milestone. Worldwide, there were about 6000 cachers with 200 finds in June 2005 and now there are more than 18,000. So, just by looking at the percentage increase during that time, Alaska cache finding is growing at a rate slightly faster than worldwide. I wonder when the 100th Alaskan will find his/her 200th cache?

At one time I kept my statistics at KeenPeople.com I hardly ever update them anymore. Most of the info under "My Stats" or "Profile" at geocaching.com has been eliminated (Biography, profile info, photo image, etc) I deleted a lot of the photos in the gallery unless it was required for proof of find.

I'm not even on the stats - if I hadn't had five DNFs looking for caches on New Year's Eve I probably would though.

Another reason to get out and get 200. Try the Knappling cache again, you'll get it.

Why would you delete the pictures? I could see it if it's a spoiler photo but don't understand unless you want to save space. You don't have to do anything to be ranked on cacherstats page you are already on there. A lot of people don't update their profiles anylonger... I have not updated mine in a while. Happy trails -

The ranking system is a little unfair to all of us who have fewer caches in our areas. I've only got 12 caches left here in Juneau - that's including one in Gustavus.
Is there a grant or scholarship to help poor cachers out to new caching areas?

Maybe there's something to that slightly off-topic comment Ladybugs made about his rank polypropylene... ya just need a wardrobe change!!! OK - getting serious now... what you really need is an AK Airlines credit card - buy everything with the card to rack up mileage (pay it off every month - DO NOT GO INTO Credit Card Debt doing this!). Works for me... and then I fly out on 'free' airline miles to fun spots like Las Vegas (or this February - Palm Springs) to 'power cache' for a few days... a great winter break at a cheap price. But wait... you're stuck in Juneau... I've got it! You need a job with the state that requires you to travel! That'll get ya out of town!

I've got 666 cache finds...
I'm stuck on that number... wierd...
Oh nooooooooooooooo..........
**************************************
Must be why I like benchmarks... I'm #52 on the geocaching.com site, with 433 log records* to date. Of course, number one is 'Me and Bucky' with an incredible 3991 to his credit!
*Note: The Geocaching total includes all log records (found, not found, destroyed, and notes). Benchmark hunters get credit for just trying to find the mark... because the status of the mark is the point of the report. Of course, they get gently laughed-at if they can't find it and someone else does! Thus, a 'not found' log in benchmarking is not a 'DNF' as in geocaching - it's just short of 'destroyed' - which can only be logged with evidence of the destruction - and is very useful to surveyors as it tells them the mark is probably missing. Finds are to be documented with a photo to demonstrate the correct mark was found to fellow 'marker hunters...

If you want to shoe out to Ole's new catch, (which he has honored me with by mentioning my handle), this weekend, send me an email...send it fast. You snooze....you lose. I believe this might be his latest way of naming caches: Knappling Rides a Bison, powmia adventure, etc. Soon it might be NorthWes's Famous Sign Cache, who knows....who knows.

Do they have a card without a yearly fee? Though it might be worth the fee...

It still may be open for FTF by the weekend, it's just enough of an adventure to make it not a cache-n-dash. I think my error was not to post it later in the week but it was not accepted on its first time submitted. I am learning how to make cachers not take short cuts (You all know I do ) I really didn't want to make it a multi as I am not a big fan of them. Nothing like not finding the first leg to get you wondering if you should be doing this sport. Yes, NorthWes is in the name of the next cache and it will be a snowshoe cache as well #3 and it will be a 2 cache multi - What to do for Scobey? Tundra Tim? MTBoy (that is easy..or hard) Trove Rover, ... you get the idea there are so many over 100 in the forum.

Hey, I can't wait for you to come up this summer! You'll have to do my Sourdough cache. You'll have to tell me how my hides stack up to those in Colorado and everywhere else and maybe give me a few pointers. What's your wife's cacher name? I'll have to have a mini cacher party and you can meet a lot of our awesome Alaskan cachers. coolest cachers anywhere! Your uncle oleruns
