Is it a bunch more in cost to have a custom shape? Has anyone done this type of coin here? The idea is a bear print. coin.

I think a bear paw print would be a cool coin design. The Alaska Mint strikes only round coins, but if someone were interested in other shapes, they could send an inquiry to oakcoins.com or coinsandpins.com, two coin manufacturers that treat geocachers very nicely and have done custom geocoin shapes. I don't have the sense that a custom coin made from a casting (as opposed to die struck like the Alaska Mint coins) would cost more than a few cents extra per coin based on my experience with round versus custom shaped lapel pins.

Its all about the size of the coin. Most coin places can make up any shape you want. My Raven coins are shaped like a bird and did not cost anything extra.
