After being in the hospital over night Tom is now home. BP says he won't be able to go caching for the next month and a half. Tho he will still be able to go to on there trip at the end of the week. Tho I cant imagine him not caching but maybe lots of PG.. hahaha. We are glad he came though the stroke with only minor problems in his left hand so he will need to be working on that over time. Will give updates when they come. Please put your comments and encouragements here so he can see them as I'm sure Tom will see them and enjoy them. thank you

Thank goodness!!! Tomanoble I'm so so happy to hear you're doing better. Please let me know if I can help with anything. If you need, I'll bring you over a bunch of different type of container for you to just OPEN and CLOSE any time you need a fix TAN...you better do what the doc says too, or else.

Get well, soon, Tom!
All strokes are serious, but glad to hear this one isn't that serious. I'm glad to hear you will be able to travel.
Let me know if I can help with anything or if you just need to chat about something.

Heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery Tom!! There will be a temporary chink in our frontline geocache vanguard, but we'll make due until you can return to the field. Perhaps BP can place some micros in and about the home to keep the Force within you strong!! Don't hesitate to ask any of your many geo-friends for support no matter how quirky it may seem. Having dealt with fuzzy in the ranks, NOTHING you could dream up would surprise us.:-)!! Nemo and williwaw

Hang in there Tom and get better soon! Let me know if I can help with anything. Perhaps I should go hide an easy P&G that you won't even need to get out of the car to find!

I found a few extra clown noses today. They look great on you, do ya need a few?
A lady came storming in the store today with a frown upon her face. I Said, with a smile, Hello, how's your day". "not good, I'm busy and stressed and it's too cold for me" was her reply, with a frown upon her face, as she sped past me. "Well you just hold on because I have something for you" I said, and I walked out the side door, with her watching me in wonder. I returned with a clown nose upon my smiling face. Nuff said, she started cracking up.
Take care my friend.

Sorry to hear about this turn of events but I'm very happy to hear that you're okay. We'll be praying for a quick and complete recovery so we may see you logging smileys again soon! Until then, I guess we're gonna have to learn how to night cache without any hints Nothing really funny happened at my work place today, but I can share this groaner of a joke: We all know why the chicken crossed the road (to get to the other side). But why did the rooster cross the road? To prove he wasn't CHICKEN!

THANK YOU! to everyone for your notes of encouragement and wishes of fast healing. I've been cleared to fly by my neurologist so it is off to Hawaii after all. The occupational therapist I saw took the same cruise last summer so she outlined some Hawaii specific ot tasks for me to do while there.
It turns out the person who spent many an hour on the monitoring end of my telemetry is also a geocacher! And I know her! Thank you for being there even if we never saw each other. The same goes for all the staff at Providence Hospital. I appreciate the care I received while there.

So good to hear. OK, you go have fun in the sun, relax, do as the docs say, and no caches over a 1-1

Most current update! I am back in Alaska. The out of state therapy trip to Hawaii is over and I am back in therapy in Alaska. ;D Fortunately my doctor cleared me to fly so we could still take our Cruise in Hawaii. The OT I saw at Providence took the same cruise last summer so she loaded me up with therapy things to do while on the cruise and pointed out some of the better places to do them at. Who knew visiting a beach had so many therapy things to do while there. And she made me climb Diamond Head for the muscle reconditioning and strength building. And go geocaching. Yes, I was forced to go geocaching as therapy. Turns out so much of what we do while geocaching is a beneficial activity to my recovery from the stroke. Right now the biggest loss is in overall fitness and strength. Where I was able to 6 miles round trip just a few months ago I now max out at @1.5 miles. Anyone up for Park and Grabs? PS I can now open most nanos left handed if they are not tightened too much.

Forced to geocache as therapy... hmmm... Please post the name and contact information of your physical therapist. S/he could probably become financially independent serving the Alaskan cacher community.
