For those who also have a TerraCaching account, you may have already gotten a notice. The TC site is being shut down on Dec 31, 2010. There are only a handful of TC's in Alaska, so it won't be a big impact, though it would probably be a good idea for those caches to either get collected up so they aren't geolitter, or if the owners are still around, maybe they can just relist them onto gc.com if they meet the criteria.

I received the notice this AM also. I never got out of the starting blocks. I think there were only 9 terracaches in Alaska, four or five of them outside of Eagle River. I also don't think there were many registered terracachers in Alaska (Tundra Tim, Tinman4x, me, and I don't know who else).
I think their main issue was their website and the difficulty in negotiating around it. But I really don't know, as I didn't work with it at all.
