There is a new one on the Yentna that is a winter cache that could be fun. That would add a whole new facet to geocaching start with a couple hides on your favorite trail system. You will only get a couple visits a year at most and if you put them about 5-6 feet in a tree (From the ground) they would be available most of the year. You would have to check on maps to find those that you can get to on a sled but there should be more than a few. If there starts to be a lot of caches out there, I may get another sled. Don't tell my wife Scobey! ;D Cool idea - Ole

I snowmachine a lot up around Talkeetna / Bald Mountain (east of the highway) and will be putting a couple of caches out on the trail system that way this winter. I've thought of doing several over the Petersville area, accessible by snow (best) or on foot (horrors!) in the summer... I'd really like to get a couple of the remote ridgetop benchmarks out there too, but the snow has to cooperate.
There are some on the Kasugi Ridge north of Petersville that might be fun - if it's open to sleds and the trail's not too steep for sane folks. Although I've not cached the Interior, some of their remote caches look ideal for snowmachines. The Ladybug Kids ski them or skijor out to them... primitive, but fun for the dogs! Personally I'm terrified of being on skis hitched to two or three running dogs...
Check out The Ladybug Kid's cache finds in the Fairbanks area - he's a pro at winter 'bush' caching - shovels & probes & fun - oh my!

Hmmm - "widetrak60" - does that refer to your snowmachine, by chance? I'm one of those guys who rides an older trail-class machine - I tow home the broken high-markers! Wide-trak / Long-trak - the 'pickup truck' of the snowmachine crowd, carrying lunches and extra fuel....
