Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself because I'm unfortunately unable to attend the CITO event in May. I was hired as a geology intern for the summer at Denali, and part of my responsibility will be developing Earthcaches in the park. My plan is, when all is said and done, to host a geocaching bash at the Park at the end of the summer.
I've already found a few physical caches from Delta Junction to Fairbanks and south to Anchorage. I'm really impressed with the quality of Earthcaches I saw along the Seward Highway (unfortunately it was raining like crazy yesterday and my visiting mother wouldn't let me stop!).
I'm originally from Illinois, went to grad school in New Mexico, lived in Washington before that, so Alaska is a whole new experience for me. I drove from NM to AK the past two weeks and it was *incredible*! I really look forward to investigating the state's geology in depth, and to contributing my share in Earthcaches at Denali.
Hope to meet you all soon!

Welcome to Alaska! My family and I make at least one trip a year to Denali National Park, so we'll be certain to look up your new EarthCaches as they publish. We also have opportunities for you and other Denali cachers to participate in events remotely. Check out Geoswag FUNdamentals - ANC.
