Okay a group of us are talking about going for a few caches down along Turnagain Arm trail. The caches we want to go get are along the trail and they are all marked as winter friendly and we are talking about doing a oneway hike from the start of the trail near the HQ there where the Snow blowing train is the trail start is just across the road from there to McHugh Creek area. I have the caches in McHugh area but we have others that don't so we can grab a few of those that are winter friendly.
The caches I have been eyeing are: Resting Giants Eagles Turnagain View (multi by LBK) Windswept Hind Quarter Who Gives A Hoot Guardian of the Arm Feeding frenzy (not winter friendly and needs new container according to the logs)
We are planning to go on the 20th of Feb with a early morning start anyone else want to tag along? The hike is about 3 to 3.5 miles without the side trips to the caches. We hike at a pretty good pace and don't waste a lot of energy on other things except the goal of the caches! So it won't be a scenic "stroll" to stop and enjoy a lot of the trail sites. Not to say we won't stop but it the goal is to grab the caches along the trail. Snow along the arm is usually less then in other parts of town as the winds takes care of that. So far I think we have about 5 folks planning to go. Think of it as a pre-hike for the Chilkoot trail if your going with Frostg1ant, start training NOW ;D!
