There is a Degree Confluence event coming up on March 22 - N62 W 147. I hope people from all across the area can attend. It is listed under the newest in Alaska. Look for GC1N5Z7. I thought I'd put the word out. Due to its location, it is unlikely to show up on the emails for Anchorage, Eagle River, Matsu, or Valdez cachers - those who would find it the easiest to attend. I hope everyone will come out and make this event. Eleven cachers attended the first Degree Confluence event last December near Willow; you can link to the story and pictures on the N62 W147 page.

This sounds like fun, sadly I won't be able to attend this one as I will be enroute home from a trip to visit the Lily Pad and see our local roller girls in action in Lynnwood Washington. Enjoy the trip.

I imagine the GAK! Board of Directors could request one of the forum administrators to send a broadcast e-mail or PM to all the members of this forum . I've done that on occasion, but now that GAK! is incorporated, I imagine there is (or will be) a more formal process for approving broadcast messages. E-mails would be more effective because they go to everyone whether they have logged into the forums or not. PMs would only be seen if someone logs on.

Lemurlad and I were within .42 of gz on this one on solstice. We were going to cross the ravine, but a strange muggle car was circling the gravel pit we were parked in and we opted to not take a chance of getting broken into that far from home. We had heard the confluence was "a short walk from parking", but no one mentioned a 200' elevation drop and regain through dense forest. Perhaps another day we will stop and try again.
