I am putting together a picnic for a professional group I belong to and am introducing them to Geocahing. Does anyone have a GPSr I can borrow for July 18? I will make sure they are taken care of and returned to you. I need approx. 11 units. I have a few already and am looking for more. Garmin or Maggie units are fine, it would help me to not have maritime or car units as I only have a limited amount of time for the Geocache portion of the picnic and don't want to have to learn a new unit and then train folks up in a unit brand new to me. Thank you very much if you can help out.

Thanks Ole. I have a total 4 units for sure now with possibly 6 secured. I think I can pull it off with a total of 10 units. If anyone is willing to part with a GPSr for a day I give you my word it will be returned the following day in the same condition it left in. If anyone is interested in participating/helping with this event let me know. There will be plenty of food and games. The geocache portion is only part of the evenings fun. Thank you to those who have already replied with a GPSr for loan. Who knows, this event may bring some new geocachers to the game.....

I have a Garmin Etrex you can use. You would have to get it before July 4 and would have to keep it until August 6. You would have to return it between Aug 6 and 15 ( Aug 15 is estimated departure day).

How is the quest for getting all the Anchorage caches before you go?

I have a Garmin etrex VistaC you can use. Thanks, thats great. The picnic is approaching and I have about 1/2 the GPSrs I need. I should be able to pull it off no matter what. But the more units, the more fun everyone will have...and who knows we may get some new blood on the trails afterwards.

No problem if you are who I think you are... you helped me decided to find out what exactly does that Geocahce icon mean on my GPS. Even though we have only met a few times.

I want to say thank you to those who have loaned me GPSrs and those who are helping out it should be a great event. I could use 1 or 2 more GPSrs if anyone could part with one for an evening. The event is on July 18. Thank you again.

I don't know if you wanted to go uber-UBER cheap (like, spending absolutely no money), but if you come by my store we can rent you about five eTrex Legends (basic b&w's) for the day for a decent price. I think they normally go for $7/day apiece, but we could work out break. If you wanted to get fancy there are also GPS Map 76's available for a little more per day. E-mail me at antonia.dodge@gmail.com or call me at work tomorrow at 522.1600 ext 602. I won't be in next week, but I'll be there tomorrow and Saturday. edit: You know, I think you already sent me an e-mail to my work addy. I'll be responding shortly.

I want to say thank you to Oleruns and OMGCrew for helping with my event tonight, both in person and with their knowledge and their GPSrs, a special thank you to AKEMT for the use of many GPSrs, and a another special thank you to POWMIA, pseudotech, and GeoGrumpy for the use of their GPSrs. I would also like to thank Antonia Dodge and her place of business for their generosity and a nifty little brewery located off Arctic for its kindness. There are many others who helped with this event and you all have my appreciation and gratitude.
I would also like to thank AKfossil for his help and I want to welcome him to the sport. He started playing this game due to preperations for this event. Welcome, I have enjoyed the times I have been out caching with you. Here's to many more.
