I'm sorry Scobster! I forgot you can't stand anything sweet! You can bring your bottle of vinegar if it pleases you. Besides, isn't midnight a little past your bedtime?

Besides, isn't midnight a little past your bedtime? ;D I laughed so hard I needed my inhaler! Awww... Scobey has something sweet... Geminigirl & Mrs Scobey are wonderfully sweet! (Beamer thinks he's sweet but my cachehounds don't agree...) You crack me up, TR! BTW - unfortunately I think I'm in Talkeetna on New Years Eve (or I'd be out there doing the Hot Cocoa & Sledmeister thing!). I had to miss the fun at the Solstice event - a friend ended up in the hospital on Christmas Eve (heart attack - and he's younger than me!) so I was visiting at Providence, doggone it! My dad was all set to come out and log his first ever event too...

Sorry to hear about your friend NW. Hope he's doing alright! Unfortunately, as we get older so do all those around us and we find ourselves seeing more and more friends suffer the effects of aging. Which is exactly why I am glad a few folks got a good laugh from this thread. They say laughter is good for the heart, mind and soul and I must say I agree 200%!! You know what else they say is good for the heart, mind and soul?[glow=red,2,300]SLEDDING!!![/glow] Not planning on making this an event, just a friendly invite to a group of great people to come out and enjoy the New Year by playing outside in the snow! We plan on being at Service High School hill around 2300hrs and plan on staying past midnight. Who knows, we may even bring a few fireworks (don't tell the police k?)!! Said I might bring some...didn't say I was going to shoot them off!! Anyway, for those who can come and choose to....look forward to seeing you there. For those who can't or choose not to......Here's wishing you all a happy, healthy, cache filled New Year!!

I think it sounds like a great idea, especially the shhh fireworks part, but will have to pass, we will be at a party just up the hill from there and they are promising fireworks too, so I think Service will be a great location for a good light show. Happy new year!!

I learned last night I might not be in Talkeetna on 12-31 after all... Hmmm... I wonder if they allow skijor dogs to run an uphill "sledlift" for fat old geocachers on the sledding hill??? I know where there's a pack of those pups just down the road from Service... hmmm...

Well, since the sled hill is not an official people only ski trail, I supposed geoskijorhounds could be used (Billie and Mons helped me find two caches today). We could neckline them to someone's poodles and teach them how to pull. This get together is a nice idea and I'd volunteer to bring a Coleman stove for keeping the beverages warm, but I don't know if I'll make it. The junior ladybugs certainly won't be there and it's short notice for a sitter for a night when so many go out. However, if Mommy Ladybug zonks out early, I just might be there.

Any news on the sledding extravaganza? Is it going to happen tonight? Anyone need to bring anything?

I was tied down in the 'hood on Neighborhood Watch duties (yawn)... sure hope folks had fun, as it was nice and warm out! The poodles would've loved the excersize... I took 'em to Connors the next day and wore us all out.
