Just stood up an event listing (GC16RT8) for November 10th's World-Wide Flash Mob Event. Check out the listing page on geocaching.com, but if you have questions post 'em here. It's a kinda goofy event, timed world-wide to go off at noon eastern time (which means we're 'mobbing' in the dark about an hour before sunrise - sort of like going to work!). Lasts exactly 15 minutes, and then we can disperse to the four winds, or go to breakfast, or go caching... you get the idea. For newer cachers, this might be a chance to log as many as four things in one 15 minute span: An event cache, a virtual cache, a benchmark, and Alaska's largest (to date) Travel Bug... Grab life by the horns - go cache Alaska! TB1984F - NorthWes' Nitro-CACHER

sort of like going to work It means I get to sleep in on the weekend, for those of us who work on New York time this will be a rare "lunchtime" caching opportunity. BTW, nice plates, now I know who got them before me

Yeah, I don't cringe when people look at this license plate. I couldn't come up with one that said something about benchmarking without a subtle reference to BMs... and that's all we'll say about that! That last one - well, my wife & daughter just didn't understand the connection to a certain hooded fraternal organization of the deep south implied by that plate - - that is, if the folks didn't think it was a dyslexic nit-wit!

Ah, so TQ isn't the only one to turn the cache mobile into a TB. Ours is TB1984F, a Toyota Tundra, quad cab of course. So I don't know if your "largest to date" statement is right, but no matter. The tags hang on the mirror, along with a sample coin. Oak Coins gave 6 sample coins and TQ Mom had a jeweler weld a loop on the rim to run a chain through. Took the dash matt to Santa's Stiches and had our coin logo stiched in.
TQ Mom and Pioneer Woman will be attending the Flash Mob in Palm Springs. See Waypoint GC16RFF. Starts at 0900 PAC.

WOW - that's a pretty cool-sounding customized cachewagon! Next time it's down here in the banana belt we'll have to park'em together for a photo-shoot. Palm Springs... ah... that was veeerrrry nice last February... I'm trying to suppress envy... trying...

I don't know about you guys, that is getting pretty crazy - whats next tatoos? Ummm - I have a cultural aversion to tattoos... personally, no thanks. However, I've been known to allow people to draw on my skin... People who know me (outside of caching) just shake their head over the new plates etc; I'm not known for 'flash' on my vehicles... no customization at all before this. On a different note - if we have a person with a digital camcorder who'd like to shoot some creative footage, podcast.com will incorporate that into their follow-on show about WWFM Geo-events.

Well caching is an obsession, but I think a tat is too much. We do has some cache tags on the way.
First good snow is falling today. I'm waiting on the river to freeze now. Only caches I have left within 100 miles are across the river, with the sole exception of Chena Dome.
