Hello Alaskan Geocachers, I'm TheMadChef and will be travelling from SLAGA country better known as the St. Louis area! I will be heading up at the beginning of June (1st through 10th) and will be headed into the Anchorage, Seward and Homer areas of SouthCentral Alaska!
Since I will be travelling w/ noncachers (my family), I won't be caching the entire time but they are very understanding of my wants to cache along our journey!
Although our itenarary isnt final we will definately be traveling along the Sterling Highway and making stops in Seward for 2 days, Kenai for a day or two, and Homer for 2 days before heading back into to Anchorage to visit w/ my aunt for a couple of days, if time permits we will try to head up to Denali for 2 days!
I will have an entire day in Anchorage to (power) cache and have a question for any of you who have cached in or around the city! Although I have looked at many different peoples bookmarks I am looking for a few must do caches while in the area. I'm not really looking for the long hike but more of the creative cache containers or your favorites. I noticed there are several night caches which I would love to do but with the limited time of darkness I don't think they would be feasible!
We will be traveling in an RV for the entire trip so big pullouts or a close by parking lot big enough is a must, but while in Anchorage my aunt has agreed to let me borrow a vehicle of hers for my power caching day!!!
If you will be or live in any of these areas and would like to cache along feel free to contact me offlist at MMaryan99@hotmail.com! I always enjoy meeting geocachers while on caching/noncaching trips!!!

Wow that sounds like a fun adventure! I do recommend the Seward Highway series or atleast the ones you can get to as they get you to stop at some nice areas.
I will sit down try to create a list and email ya if I can manage a list. =)

The GeocacheAlaska! Cache Information page has bookmark lists done my several local cachers. Cohofive appears to revamping his bookmarks lists of the Seward Highway series to separate them into caches most easily accessed by northbound or southbound traffic, so stay tuned.

Should we hold off on any new puzzle publishings in Sonai until S-5 gets his bookmarks straightened out? Wouldn't want to detract from his duties. Themadchef, I am in the Kenai area and will be home from June 2-6. If you need some suggestions for the Soldotna/Kenai/Sterling area, I'll be happy to provide. I'm also available as a guide or just to meet and give you a run down on the "quick-n-dirty" caches in this area. If you're into puzzles at all, there is a reason we've been tagged as the Puzzle Capital of Alaska (it's a per capita thing). Pick any puzzle cache within the central Kenai Peninsula and you'll see my puzzle bookmark list. Everything is on there with my personal ratings. BTW, my GS handle is SSO JOAT.

Thanks for the suggestions, I already spoke with The Coho5 about their Highway series and asked them if they could tell me which caches were on which side of the road. That is why they started listing them in 2 bookmarks! I have already looked at the Favorite bookmarks of LadybugKids, Oleruns, and a few others on the website. Thanks for the suggestions, my family can't wait to visit the Chocolate Waterfalls, Ladybugkids. If I have time while in the area I'll send you a message Joat, it might be nice to have a guide while in the area for a day!!! Already working on some of the puzzles just in case!!! Hopefully I will even have time to do the Wherigo cache in Botanical Gardens in Anchorage, it was already on our list of places to visit!!!
Thanks for the suggestions, can't wait to visit!
