State Park Meetings: There are a few meetings in the next couple of months geocachers should have someone there at all meetings even if you just sit in the back and listen. Pipe up if someone says no to geocaching, that's all you have to do. People tend to step on user groups that don't show up so they can look better. www.adn.com/outdoors/story/926140.htmlI may go to one but it'll be good if we make sure someone is at every meeting. The more the better plus a good chance to network with other user groups. If you don't, who knows what will happen.

I'd be willing to attend a few, if not all the ones for September.

I'll be sitting on the Sept 22 meeting for sure, I might be able to hit the one on the 16th as well. Who else is planning to attend?

I will be at as many as I can attend. There is a GeAK! BoD meeting the night of the first one so I will not be able to attend. I am going to try and make the one on the 16th and all the rest of them. We should have a good representation of geocachers there to advocate for our land usage.

I attended the meeting today at the Atwood building, nice talk and met some interesting park users and met some park contacts both state and from the muni.
The single most important item they are planning is to extend the Eklutna lake trail to completly circle the lake. This will make an awesome geocaching loop. It will also remain a multi use trail meaning 4 wheelers can cruise the lake as well as non motorized users.
I'd suggest attending one of the remaining meetings, they are passing out CD's with complete detailed maps of the Chugach as well as PDF versions of their 15 year outlook for trails. Really neat stuff oh yeah, and it's free.
Go represent geocachers!
