Mt. Redoubt blew ash 60,000 feet into the sky last night and the wind blew it over Skwentna, Trapper Creek and Wasilla. For more details, visit the Alaska Volcano Observatory Website. This just posted on the website: "2009-03-23 19:59:03 A new explosive eruption has just occured at Redoubt starting at 0741 PM AKDT. Radar indicate a cloud height of at least 60,000 feet above sea level. We will put out more information as it becomes available." The National Weather Service Website has issued an ashfall advisory for Talkeetna, Willow, and Cantwell in the Susitna River Valley between now and 0500 tomorrow (Tuesday). Unfortunately, it's too cloudy over Cook Inlet to get a view of the volcano's plume from Anchorage this evening.
