I thought this thread might get more attention if I changed the year to 2009. I also added info for camping passes. Bump...the link in the first post of this thread still works for online renewal. Ordered our 2009 parking passes today! The passes cost $40 for the first and $20 for the second family vehicle. The daily fee is $5 for most every State Park access point in Alaska except the Little Su Public Use Facility, the Pillars Boat Launch (between Soldotna and Kenai), Arctic Valley and the Eagle River Nature Center. Parking pass info link dnr.alaska.gov/parks/Passes.cfmA free Disabled Veteran's Annual Camping Pass is also available from the AK Dept Of Natural Resources. The legislature granted Disabled Alaskan Veterans (DAV) the right to receive one Alaska State Park Camping Pass free of charge. The DAV Camping Pass, which is valid in all developed Alaska State Park campgrounds, is good for two years. To receive a free DAV camping pass, an eligible disabled veteran must present proof of a service connected disability and Alaska residency at either the Anchorage or Fairbanks DNR Public Information Centers. Additional info can be obtained at; dnr.alaska.gov/parks/asp/vetpass.htm

Alaska State Parks has a survey they'd like recreational users to fill out. They'll probably use it as an indication of how people now use and would like to use state land and facilities, especially the mix of motorized and non-motorized. It's just three screens of questions and easy: LinkFor kids, there's a separate survey: Link
