Land managers at BLM Campbell Tract and MOA Far North Bicentennial Park have established an exclusion zone extending 150 feet on either side of streams within those two parks. Caches inside the zone must be moved or archived, and no new placements inside that zone will be allowed. The purpose is to protect sensitive stream habitat and reduce the opportunity for bear encounters. Complete details can be seen on a new thread over in the Land Manager section of the forum (near the top of the forum page). Ten existing caches are impacted. Coordination and implementation of this policy has established a closer working relationship with land managers at the federal and city level. Geocaching is currently enjoying an excellent reputation as a park user group with excellent application of its espoused CITO and 'Leave No Trace' principles - so keep up the good work, cachers!
