The cache owner should reply quickly, but sometimes they're traveling or some such thing. Did you log the caches AND send them an email, or just log the caches? Sometimes it helps to do both the cache log and the email... then they get two notices that you've done the cache.

I have never gotten a reply to any of my e-mails/posts to the five Fairbanks area earthcaches I have completed.
I would expect to receive a reply only if the answers to the questions I submitted were incorrect.

I would expect to receive a reply only if the answers to the questions I submitted were incorrect. Huh... that's too bad. I figure it's my responsibility to reply to folks who take time to provide those answers, even with a brief note saying 'Good Job!' I know that's Ladybug's style too... My mom taught me courteousness requires an answer. However, like much else in geocaching, many folks play many different ways. Log your finds and congratulations, deafhunt!

thx when i did that . it wil email me that pin on the way ? deafhunt, did you see the requirements for the Bronze Earthcache pin on the Geological Society of America's Earthcache page: www.geosociety.org/earthcache/ecMasters.htmThey have an application form link on that page. To qualify you must find earthcaches in at least 2 states....

I would expect to receive a reply only if the answers to the questions I submitted were incorrect. I now "own" three earthcaches and always reply back with at least a "cache on". Pretty sure I replied to LBK when he got the FTF on Denali's Fault. My biggest problem so far has been having to delete log entries from folks who really didn't visit the cache or follow the guidelines. Into caching for the fun and don't desire any confrontations from upsetting the applecart. So I only delete the ones that are clearly just web surfing number chasers. If I have failed to reply saying you are correct then I apologize. I just got back from vacation and believe I'm all caught up on the e-mail notifications now. Several earthcaches around Fairbanks are by CavScout and he has moved to Kentucky and being active duty there is really no telling where he's at. So don't sweat the little stuff, have fun, and cache on.

Wow do I second your remark about 'biggest problem so far has been having to delete log entries from folks who didn't visit the cache'... my Turnagain Arm Tidal Bore cache is the worst for that, but I've had several logs by folks who have no other Alaska caches logged but the earthcache... number hounds. I delete 'em after emailing a notice & allowing a week to comply. Thanks for the reminder about CavScout, TundraQuad. I wonder if he's gonna adopt-out his Alaska caches now that's he's moved to the lower 48 courtesy of the US Army?

Pretty sure I replied to LBK when he got the FTF on Denali's Fault. Yup! Sure did! That was a cool coincidence to see that cache post when I was in the area for other reasons. My comments were intended to help Deafhunt understand that he may not receive a reply to every Earthcache he logs.

I'm still here folks and I still cache and monitor the finds through geocaching.com. I reply to anyone who gets the questions wrong or something doesn't match up, otherwise if your answers are good then I usually don't say anything. I have over 50 caches in AK and somedays I get several enmails saying who visited what cache. To be honest I just don't have the time to check each email.
Merry Christmas!
