;D Guess I get to be the first to post from out here in Nome... Found the lean to rock cache today, great fun, but quite BUGGY. Oh well, thats summer! I love it! We don't have many caches or cachers out this way, so I kick around looking for the benchmarks too, kinda cool, some haven't been logged in many years! Hope everyones having a warm, active summer. Enjoy! iio

Boy NorthWes would be happy to have so many benchmarks he could find. ;D Congrats on the find! You'll have to place a few for fun. It will only take a few cachers and you'll have a lot of fun caching.

Hey iio - what are some of the benchmarks you've logged? I have to talk to you about doing 'volunteer recoveries' for the NGS out there - cool stuff! Do you have the PID numbers for some of the ones you've found around Nome? I haven't been out west there since I started geocaching...

Hey Northwes, I'll have to check my logs at geocache.com for the benchmarks I've found. Think I did take pics of all my finds so far though. Let me know of any you are interested in- see if I can find'em. Alot of the old ones that were close to the beach are gone due to storms I believe. But I have found quite a few from the 40's, when the military was up here. Always a bummer to find one out in the country, & when I go to log it- its not on the list... thats only happened a couple times though.
