1st = How can I tell if a geocache is still active? Been looking for GC313A8, and have a hunch it's not there. Can anyone confirm? 2nd = How far apart can one geocache be from another? Looking at placing one between GC1YNN7 and GC3K8AH. Would that work? 3rd = I'm not a muggle! At least I don't think I am anymore! thank YOU!

1. The geocache you reference is "active." Tho other options are "temporarily disabled" or "archived." You can't "see" archived caches.
2. Per the guidelines, caches must be 528' apart. Best way to check is to enter your desired coordinates on a new cache page, view the cache page, and then click on the "all nearby caches" link.

3- People are only "muggles" until they make their first post on these forums. Then the post ranking system takes over and you'll get stars added as you pass milestones.

I was confused for a long time on this one. Go ahead and make a New Cache, cache page. You can make adjustments to it to include Long/lat. before you check the last little box that state, "this listing is ready to publish". That way you can, like LBK said, check other caches for how close they are. did any of that make sense to anyone except the little fella in my head
