Pull up a stump and make yourself at home. These are YOUR forums. Read, post, and chat to your heart's content. Keep it civil and family-friendly is all that we ask.
You have a selection of general and geocaching discussion boards available to browse as well as a section to talk about GeocacheAlaska! and even participate in committee level work. If you volunteer to serve on one of the 4 committees, you'll be able to access a special section of our forum to help us out with various club tasks and projects. You can request a committee assignment by going to your Profile on this forum and looking at the "Groups" tab. You'll see a list of the committees and a button where you can request to join. The group leader (committee chairperson) must approve your request, so allow a little time for them to respond.
Look around and see all that is new. If you have any questions, you can drop them in the chat window at the bottom of any page or post them to the "Website and Forums" board.
Thanks for visiting and being part of our community!

Alright folks! I have finally reached the end of my modifications list for the ProBoards v5 upgrade project!!! The current layout is how things are going to look for awhile, but feedback on specifics are always welcome. I'm always game for new ideas and improvements we can make.
One notable change that took effect just a few minutes ago was unlocking the front door. This forum is now available for limited Guest (public) access. Anyone can now visit this site and view the majority of the forum boards and then view the content of most of those boards. You must register and log in before you'll be able to join in the discussion and post.
So tell all your geocaching friends to drop by and see what those Alaskan geocachers are talking about!

Thank you. Sounds like you guys had a pretty good event in Homer the other day. Sorry I missed it, but somebody has to keep 90% of the state's tax base running 24/7. Hey, put July 13th on your calendar for the picnic. I hope you'll be able to come up with the whole clan and spend the day with us. I put in a request for sunshine.

Scott - glad you were keeping the state running while we played with GPSrs. :-) July 13th is on the calendar and as of right now we are all planning to be there. (Rain or shine, but we do prefer the sun for that event, of course.)

We have a new member of our Forum's administrative staff. Please welcome "Event Master" to the Geek Squad. As folks are discussing their event ideas and get to the point where they need to list something on our Calendar, I will convert existing discussion threads to calendar-linked event threads. If it goes on our calendar, I'm the one to talk to.

I like this event master concept... I see more traffic his way later today.
