I have been caching in a few states now and have noticed that our Vandals are some of the most active. I hate vandalism as I am sure everyone else does. I wish we could come up with a way to catch them and make them pay for fixing the damage.

Could it be the squatters camping out in the woods & corners?

Most of the ones (coins/TBs) gone missing never made it more than 20-40 miles. Of course, I do not count the ones on top of mountains that remain there for very long times. Even my statement about an embedded micro chip enabling me to determine its exact whereabouts did not help.

Found out that my very first released personal geocoin has disappeared. I placed it in Buck Teeth when I was down there on a visit. Cachecreepers logged an entry and said it was gone. I've e-mailed the previous visitors, but really don't hold much hope. What luck huh. Go through all the trouble and expense to get a personal coin just to have it swiped. I expected it to happen eventually...not first.

Hang in there! We've had coins travel anywhere from 7800 miles to zero miles. Our solution is to keep releasing coins because when one takes off, it's a lot of fun to watch. The junior ladybugs like to see see the bugs' and coins' movements using the TB page GoogleEarth function.

I expected it to happen eventually...not first. Don't give it up yet. I've had mine disappear, reappear, vanish then reappear. About 40% of my coins are missing, and that is possibly 28-29 where-abouts unknown. Sometimes the cacher has to travel back home from out of state, and that takes a while for them to post. Not all have immediate access to a computer.

I have had a ASngels TB out for almost 2 years now and have emailed the person who has it and he still hasn't put it out. He admits to having it. That really t's me off too. He is in the lower 48. Some people just don't care. cannonfodder is the culprit, hope he stays in the lower 48.

Should we spam cannonfodder? Everyone ask him where or when the TB will be placed?

I love Ole's idea!! In fact....consider the first email sent! Can you imagine getting 20 or so emails regarding a travel bug? Maddening I would think!

Maybe it will prompt him to put the coin out. Consider that two emails sent.

I agree, i had one with the goal to make it to Pensicola Florida. It made it just outside of Orlando before some guy just held onto it for a year and a half...now it is just missing. He said he still had it...after the third email i never heard back from him.
Then there are the jerks that drop coins on mountain tops and climbing caches. Who does that:)

My Maggie the Mosquitoe Coin made it about 6 miles before missing.
I am always sending emails... Maggie Lee is in the hands of someone vacationoning in Denmark but all he is doing is discovering caches instead of dropping the coin. I have sent him like 10 emails.
I will have to admit I have kept a coin or TB for an extended time, also my child has lost one.

Maybe i should get on these forums more often. After my post, i noticed that a few sent e-mails to cannonfodder. Thanks guys for the try, but that tb will never go anywhere. I guess we just have to except that some people are going to do bad things and go on with our lives, but it is annoying and i know alot of people who have lost TB'S, Geo Coins and even cache containers. That is a shame, but hopefully they will get caught one day. I thought about contacting Geo Caching approvers and see if their e-mails would help, or close out their accounts, but all the stinkers would have to do is open up another account on the geo site and do the same thing all over again. I guess we will just have to take the losses and go on.
