This is a repost after original thread got zapped into a bunch of undecipherable zeroes and ones. The forum admins apologize to those whose original posts were deleted.
There are many ways a cacher can contribute to the growth and health of our game/sport/addiction/affliction. Cachers can maintain the website, design and distribute GeocacheAlaska! geocoins, moderate these forums, work with land managers to keep public lands open to geocaching, teach beginners' clinics, host events, meet with members of the media, hide caches and do many other things.
So much ado is made about the prolific cache finders in some circles that the prolific cache hiders get overlooked. The purpose of this thread is to recognize those cachers who give us all more caches to look for by hiding more caches. I'll start the list by identifying those who have hidden ten or more caches as of today. The counts include event and archived caches because they took time to host/place, even if they are no longer active. From here on out, let's give a big pat on the back to those cachers who place their first cache and then recognize every fifth or tenth hide. If I missed someone, post here or drop me a PM or e-mail and I'll add you to the list.
PedalPushin (North Pole) - 95 Scobey (Anchorage) - 55 Ladybug Kids (Fairbanks) - 54 Northwes (Anchorage) - 49 Oleruns (Anchorage) - 30 MTBoy (Anchorage) - 28 Roscoe P (Valdez) - 27 Cav Scout (Fairbanks) - 24 deke rivers (Anchorage) - 23 Ridgeseeker and Suzaru (Seward) - 20 pioneer woman (Fairbanks) - 18 Cache-n-Stash (Soldotna) - 17 akwhodini (Anchorage) - 16 yellowdawg (Fairbanks) - 16 akvoyager (Juneau) - 15 Girl of the Limberlost (MatSu) - 14 Northern Trekker (North Pole) - 14 Hazelsgroup (MatSu) - 12 Knappling (Anchorage) - 12 SantaBro (Eagle River) - 12 Tundra Tim (Anchorage) - 12

In all the excitement after our California cachepalooza, I missed the fact that Scobey's Seawolves cache was his 60th hide. He didn't stop there...he hid three more in quick succession after that !!! I can't wait, plus I'm sweating a bit, to see what he comes up with during his forced convalescence, but I suspect there will be a cache explosion of Scobeyesque proportions when he gets his walking papers.

Cav Scout hid #40 on his way to his current count of 43 at Pedro's Shotgun Shell. One nice thing about his hides is he usually gets you out and about for a drive or hike outside of Fairbanks. OMGCrew has cracked the ten hide milestone and now stands at 13 hides. Great job!

Wish I could hide more caches in Alaska but unfortunately the Army only needed me for Iraq and is sending me to Lexington,Kentucky to work at the University of Ky. Thanks Alaska for all of the geocaching adventures!

Scobey hit #70 a couple of days ago and I understand he has a couple more in the works. He's number 2 behind PedalPushin's state-leading 99 caches. Thanks for keeping the game alive, Scobey!

NorthWes has 53 with his new Earthcaches! Thanks Wes for the caches!!!! HoooAh!! Ole Wes (as in "good ole" not "plain old") has always had some adventurous caches that are not physically demanding, and yet take a cacher to some really neat areas. I believe he pays rent at Kincaid Park.

In less than eight months, FrostG1anT has reached 35 hides to go with his 219 finds. I believe that might be the 2nd best hide to find ratio in the state, just behind PedalPushin who has 99 hides to go with their 567 finds. Nice job!!!

I just got **Thunderbird** reworked and activated again...
I think that makes 15 active for me.
Hope to get one placed each week until the fall. I'm trying to stay within a 15 mile radius of the Butte. I'll see if I can keep people amused and challenged.

Oh why not ... PedalPushin has now placed 109 caches with the new Denali Series going in along the Denali Highway ... makes me almost want to become a new cacher so I can find them all.
But seriously ... if you opt to drive the Denali Highway, please be prepared. We lost 3 tires on our trek due to the rocks and finding a tire fix in Cantwell on Sunday night at 9:30pm on Father's Day was quite an adventure in and of itself.
Our motto: An inconvience is an adventure wrongly considered; An adventure is an inconvience rightly considered.
Cache On!

We were driving our 2000 Toyota Sienna Van ... Goodyear Tires ... about 30% of the tread left ... not enough obviously. Since returning the van has gotten new Cooper tires although the rest of team is not quite ready to make the run again.
I think we just had one of those days ...

I may have missed someone, so be sure to add other folks with ten or more hides to this thread.
