On Saturday there is a Besh Cup race in Salcha, and in Sunday there is a Besh Cup race at Birch Hill - any geocaches nearby?

The Borough portion of Birch Hill is devoid of caches due to the Borough's anti-caching stance. However, if you solve the puzzle for Welcome to Birch Hill, you'll be well-positioned to snag that cache.
Other nearby caches are: Birch Hill Cache Raven Watchers
Out in Salcha, you might want to take your snowshoes and go up the ski trails and then cross country to "A Cliff in Salcha."
If you get any meals in North Pole, you can drive up to: Discover North Pole Do the Ho Ho Ho virtual Alaskan Memories ~ "North Pole" Stripes
That should get you started...
Which hotel are you staying in? If you are staying in downtown Fairbanks, there's a whole slew of caches within walking distance.

Which ski trails are easiest to get to Birch Hill Cache from? Ski all the way to the top of the "Tower Loop" which takes off from the top of hill at the end of the stadium. The most direct way is to take "Tower Direct" which skips all but the last switchback. Here's a link to a trail map.Once at the top, follow your arrow to the cache and be ready to kick around some snow.

Aren't there bodies buried on Birch Hill, and ghosts of past petrolum workers from Ft Wainwright?

Aren't there bodies buried on Birch Hill, and ghosts of past petrolum workers from Ft Wainwright? Yep...there's a cemetery on the southwest side visible from the Steese Highway and a little memorial plaque in the woods off the White Bear Loop. There are lots of additional acres where undocumented misdeeds could be hidden.

I always felt a bit eerie riding around in the truck making valve changes on the Ft Wainwright side of Birch Hill in the late night hours.
