I have been posting member only caches a lot. The only reason I have been is so that I can look at the audit log to see if anyone is looking at the pages. So I have turned a few to nonmember caches and hope for a few more finds. The question I have - Is there any other reason to make a cache members only?

The audit logs on Premium Members' Only caches are fun to watch.
I like to start my "nicer" caches as Premium Members' Only so cachers who are financially supporting the game get first crack at them. After awhile, I lift the Members' Only status so all cachers can view them.
I wish everyone who played would ante up and buy a Premium Membership. It's cheap compared to other forms of entertainment and it supports the increasingly robust infrastructure to keep the website up and running.

One advantage of a member only cache is that it adds a layer of security for geocoins and TB. Since you can see who viewed the page, if a coin goes missing, it may be easier to identify who may have taken it. I haven't tried this myself but in theory it should work to deter geocoin thieves.

I am thinking of making a member-only cache. What is an audit log?

I am thinking of making a member-only cache. What is an audit log? When you make a cache members only on the cache page in gc.com is a link that only you can see that lets you see who has viewed the page.
