Sometimes I miss a new event posting. This thread may help others like myself, keep up with events that we're not aware of.
If any one needs more details on an event, or has questions about one, this may be a good place to start.
Maybe an out of state cacher wants to attend an Alaskan event, well this would be a good place to check.

Thanks for the free advertising, fuzzy! The Post-Apocalyptic Hibernal Solstice Gathering is designed to be a brief meet-up in Spenard for cachers who've survived the morning's end of the Mayan Calendar and want to gather moral strength before facing the oncoming long night (nearly 18.5 hours of darkness!) of Winter Solstice. The Spenard Vortex has been belching forth prizes - just two days after posting the event it disgorged a Cache Dragons Winter Edition unactivated Geocoin for the prize swag bag. A note found near my computer told me the next scheduled prize belch was to occur on or about Dec 7th, so stay tuned for an update about the Special Edition prizes to be awarded. SSO JOAT's analysis of the Calendar crisis produced one solution - he suggests cachers get their own GeocacheAlaska! 2013 calendar at the Dec 14 GeoFest, to help alleviate the apparent stress caused by the impending end of the Mayan calendar. Log your plan to attend now - who knows, the Spenard Vortex might just belch forth something with your name on it, if it knows you're planning to attend... Check out how to get there in advance; who knows how the morning's activities are going to mess with magnetic north. Here's a link to the cache page: coord.info/GC426MJ

Well, I will give it to Wes. I'd say a vortex probably wouldn't give a prize by say " excuse me sir", or "hello misses, may I give you a prize"?

Watch it - I heard the Spenard Vortex rumbling about Cans'o'Spam too...
So far everything's been pretty easy to clean off. I've just removed the outside wrapper to find the contents undamaged. However, there must've been something tasty on the Winter Cache Dragon geocoin packaging, because when I arrived home last evening I found it on the living room floor with standard poodle teethmarks on the outer packaging. I suspect the poodles either liked the Spenard Vortex belch flavoring, or more likely were ensuring the Dragons weren't yet alive...
Fortunately none of my spoos (affectionate Standard Poodle Owner shorthand for 'Standard POOdles') are named Taos, so the packaging just looked slightly mussed - not redeployed via cyclonic force...

Oh my... doesn't this look like it would be tasty? Spam'n'Pineapple BBQ skewers... Mr Whitekeys would be So Proud! YUMMY in our TUMMY on the beach at Lake Spenard! Now all I need is a little hibachi propane BBQ grill and we can tailgate party Spenard - style at the Post - Apocalytpic Hibernal Solstice! Thanks, LBK - this was a GREAT idea! Hmmmm... I wonder if I can con someone into bringing some non-alcoholic drinks with cherries and pineapple chunks with little umbrellas stuck in them? I'll have to check the Spenard Vortex Spew Menu...

I simply don't understand what's going on with the sparse number of "Will Attend" logs posted for the Post-Apocalyptic Hibernal Solstice... all these fabulous food items off the Sizzling Spenard Vortex Fine Dining Menu, Limited Edition Geo-Bling being disgorged by the Spenard Vortex on a weekly basis... and only ten cachers have signed up as 'will attend' so far. You'd think folks would be knocking down the doors to be there - or maybe they're afraid of the Spenard Vortex? No... I can't believe that's possible. Check out the latest raffle prize bling to be given away:

maybe its those Spam'n'Pineapple BBQ skewers has some taking a sec. look if they want to go or scaring them off compleatly. Or even cause them to "belched" and "disgorged"....

Hmmm... no one will force them to eat the tasty SPAM skewers! Too funny - the Spenard Vortex doesn't belch or disgorge people! No - only prizes... and menus.... I even had to buy the food myself!
