I isn't too early to start discussion of whether to have a Christmas Event. Please Vote and comment! If my vote counts….. I vote YES! Hopefully a Christmas Event will happen! As I’m planning to be in town, about the same time of last year’s event. Oh yeah, I've voted yes. Just noticed the voting banner above.

I'm a YES too - although I'm a Valdezian... I would be able to attend something in Anchorage either December 7 or December 9... Do you have any tentative dates in mind?

I voted undecided. If it is held outdoors, in the snow, in the cold, then I will vote yes.

It would be great to have a holiday event - as long as it's not on Christmas or Christmas Eve.

I second knappling's thoughts - and you know there's a way to include powmia's preferences too... and be warm no matter what your winter camping skills entail.... hmmmm... must remember I am NOT supposed to host any more events this year per Mrs NW... ... ... ... mrs who???

I certainly hope you are not referring to that nice woman who patiently reads a book while you look for little brass disks in the middle of nowhere .

Wes: I will gladly take you along on a winter overnight trip up in to the Ship Creek/Temptation Peak area, and there is no need to wait until Xmas. Just ask.

I have an idea for an activity, if anyone is interested...
When I was in grad school at UAF, I used to do a teambuilding activity with the class I taught... they did a research scavenger hunt of sorts... I would purchase party supplies, and hide them around campus, and then come up with a number of clues that they would have to go to the library or the internet to research... and from the clues they would go to the location and retrieve the item and then bring it back to a central location for a party...
The geocaching equivalent might be that people sign up for things to bring... then they scope out a waypoint (not a geocache) and email the waypoint and the type of party item to the Supreme Organizer. On the day of the get-together, each attendee places their item at the waypoint. Then each attendee is given a different (someone else's) waypoint by the Supreme Organizer, and then have to go retrieve the party supplies hidden there... and then return them to a central location, where everyone then partakes of holiday cheer and showing off GPSrs.
Just a nutsy cuckoo idea...

;D WOW!! I look forward to seeing the cache-n-Dash teem again and I have lots of prizes and the Chinese auction of swag items should all be great fun. Hope to get the chance to go caching with you along with New Yorker who will also be making the long trip up from Arizona or Oklahoma where ever his job seems to take him at the time. I am looking forward to the party going along without a hitch and hope you all have fun!! ;D

My intelligence sources have picked up evidence of early travel planning on the part of the ACD crew (small photos from cell phones, I suppose...): Here's CENT5 prepping his cachemobile... Here's a test flight of Alaska Airlines newest cacher delivery system - the 737-SR71 model... Soon... very soon...

They are talking about geocaching all night and sleeping on the plane. Will be a short nap!
