It can't be wrong Ole, there are no hard fast rules which is one of the reasons this game is great!
My DNF list is pretty long even though my numbers are skewed, I originally started deleting DNF's if I returned to the site and made a find. Others I deleted after the cache owner confirmed that the cache was gone. Others never recieved a DNF because I didn't feel I had done my part in searching well enough and planned to return. If I only give a quick search and move on I don't want to raise warning bells with the cache owner because I was too lazy to give it full effort.
I did some rough math and padding it for my skewed numbers I believe I'm at a whopping 9-10%. Maybe I'll be able to get that to 11% today WooHooo!

The good news is that I am 100% for 2009 2 for 2 ! but still have a 12% DNF average. I even found all my own caches when I archived them and with my memory, that's impressive. The next three I will archive will be Jolly Rodger, Sprucetree and where is Herk. Trove Rover Trail will be in there too. I will archive them in mid month so get them before they are gone.

What about a "did not try to find" category. I have a feeling that I have a high incidence of landing on the "ignore list"...
I have only placed one cache on the ignore list...i don't remember why. I guess I search areas now and sometimes eliminate micros from the search cue. That could skew my results but I bet I am still a 18% or higher DNFer...
I think I placed a cache in one of the best locations in the Chugach I have ever been to this weekend. About met my maker with the wet spring avalanches on the way down...
Does that earn you a GOLD geocacher needs maintenance coin?
I will be heartbroken if nobody makes an attempt for this one this summer...nothing too technical, just far, far, away. 7000 foot peaks stare down on you from all sides...and, in May, avalanches rain down on you from those peaks. Use caution!
I see a Frost1Giant trip in the near future...especially since the volcano is rumbling again.
I almost dropped a cache on the 3 pitch "sunshine ridge" rock climb the other day. It is absolutely spectacular. However, when I look at the stats from acachraphobia...only a few cachers have visited without my assistance in several years. That is going DOWN. I can't imagine the statistics on having to go UP UP UP:)
how is that for a rambling post?
