Correct me if I'm wrong, but a multi must have the coordinates to the first stage as the actual published waypoint. So a solve-at-home puzzle for the first stage instantly kills the multi and makes it a puzzle cache. Naturally a puzzle can have multiple stages and still be a puzzle. As for the whereigo and letterbox, wouldn't those need to be published as stand-alone caches in order to be an actual whereigo or letterbox cache? I don't see how you could embed a letterbox within a puzzle, though I suppose there's a way to embed the whereigo concept into a puzzle. Has anyone actually found said cache? (and can you share the GC#?) CH... you've given me an idea for a "crazy" puzzle! Thanks.

I'll probably be pulling out the rest of my hair. (Won't take too long!) A "puzzle" cache is actually just a cache that doesn't fit cleanly into any other definition of a cache type and is actually an "Unknown" cache type. That leads me to believe that any number of elements can be combined for a single cache. I was under the impression that new virtual caches are no longer available on Groundspeak.

Yes, yes I can. There are tons of apps and online resources for reading barcodes and QR codes. This site is "perfect" for these as there is zero fluff, advertising, and no downloads involved. Just upload a picture of the QR and it instantly tells you what it says... zxing.org/w/decode.jspx

Don't forget the QR "Geo Location" version of the code. It's almost like it was purpose built for geocaching. Coming to a multi-leg puzzle cache someday, you'll have to use the QR code app on your smart phone to get the coords to the next stage from the QR code... or you'll have to take a picture and return to a computer between each stage... either way. So, 9 pages and 128 posts later, this thread is still trudging along... and I'd like to say that the GSAK polygon feature is my new "favorite" thing. The heck with circles and distances and figuring out good center points to use. Polygons are kewl.

After giving folks more than a a week to ponder the question, the answer is "Wherigo" with the Beacon attribute because one needs a device that is Wherigo and Chirp enabled. Said cache has not yet been published.

welcome back CH! I see you were restless the other morning and beat cavy to a FTF. I am curious about the challenges. I have taken up Waymarking inthe mean time and a few caches here and there. With the Mrs having Chemo every 3 weeks it is hard to get out and do a lot of caches right now. Maybe I will take a look at the Wherigo, chrip, QR, UV and Puzzle cache seems it might be fun to try and create one of those and the whereigo will have questions you must answer to move forward...harder!

I've been toting around a printout of everything about Illogical Illusions for the last couple months. It's quite rabbit-eared at this point. I've had many ideas come and go; some remain unproven one way or the other. Still searching for the key and the "ah-ha" moment.
This one is not nearly as easy as all those Klondike Kid puzzles down here. Though I know from solving a couple Coho puzzles that his "logic" is considerably different than that of KK.
But don't worry, if I figure it out ya'll will be the first to hear me gloat!!!

No real numbers but I knew it was into a photshop program and liked that idea but not so sure this one is it I have looked pretty close at all the attachments and such but nothing in them I could find... I will be listening for the bleat of the gloat.... thanks

Eeps! I've been away to long and this thread is languishing! But I did grab Polgera and made an honest effort ot make-up lost territory. We managed to pluck 10 of the 17 mushrooms that had sprouted in my absence. I need to stay upright and knock the others off quickly.

I'm looking forward to those long hikes/climbs in Late July, August, and September. I am willing to join you on them too! If I am not moose hunting this year in late August or Sept. Really want to go back North for a caribou on the haul road or maybe moose hunt on Eielson target ranges
