I was out this weekend and was very surprised to see this many homeless camps. There are more this summer than I have ever seen before in Anchorage.

I found these homeless camps on the north side of Chester Creek between the New Seward Highway off the end of 20th Ave. and Lake Otis. Each location appears to be inactive, but has detritis including tents, soggy sleeping bags, bags of clothes, empty booze bottles and beer cans, and other stuff. I hauled out as much as I could carry in a half dozen grocery bags, but there is easily a truck load of items scatted around out there.
