Just put the travel bug on the truck. Still need a first to find... good luck! In all seriousness... just trying to see how many GeoCacher's are out and about when my truck is out and about.

Yup, found the photo, too. Wonder if the owner will be as touchy as NorthWes was when I pulled out the towstrap in order to take the TB home???

I love the new TB decals you can get for car TB's. Makes me want to make the Duck moble a TB.

Feel free to claim it... but please leave 24k gold geo-coins (by the pound) in it's place! Need a calculator, $944/oz... 16oz in a pound - - yeah... one pound minimum!

Possibly I should get a TB. You bet you should - especially with those cool plates! I didn't buy the fancy decals - I just put a discreet sticker on my rear license plate. Very low-key. The license plate's the dead give-away (that, and the dirty white paint job...).

How do I get the thing to log miles? Should I place it in a cache? Does the cache need to be a particular size? ie not micro? Help?

I think I figured out the miles aspect of my Vehicle TB.
Wow. Bit Tedious.
I find your traditional cache. While out and about. Of course, I have my dog tag version of the TB in my pocket... so, my TB has now arrived at your cache.
I go home.
I log the find at your cache. I place my TB in your cache. I log into my TB, and retrieve my bug.
Is that it in a nutshell?

Is that it in a nutshell? Yup! I think you can do that for any cache type except Webcam caches. It's because of the tedious nature of the process you described, I don't log a personal coin or TB through each cache I visit, though some folks do. Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK) will calculate the point to point distance for you as well as will itsnotaboutthenumbers.com.

It works quite quick except when I am "roaming" with my internet card. Then I don't "drop" the coin. For some reason my session times out trying to upload photos or drop coins/tbs.

So, there I was... wondering if the vehicle travel bug was going to be discovered much. And, viola, 800 miles from home, megadrile from Fairbanks discovered my truck. And, on that same trip ran into the DaveMiester, li1gray, and seastlake (who was riding in my travel bug).
And then... it happened. seastlake sent me an e-mail to tell me that his daughter found another vehicle travel bug (My Geo-Escape)! So, I have to ask, is it still a small group?
So, how about a quick 'inventory' just to heighten awareness that there are travel bugs, that ALWAYS travel!
I know of these two (the list is huge, eh?) Powerstroke (TB212QR) My Geo-Escape

TQ Mom's truck is also a TB. See TB1D2JC. To help you find it here are a couple clues. It is a Tundra quad cab. And by the way, TQ Mom needs surgery and the truck could be spotted in Palmer soon.

I've also got TB tags on my truck. There's one one each side. My plate is the same as my username and there are "Gx" symbols on the rear window. I log it through nearly every cache I visit. TB27TCW. Other than immediate friends/family who cache with me, no one else has discovered it yet.

This is great!
I'm on the lookout for the Vehicle-TBs... with my PowerStroke in the garage, I'm in need of a new TravelBug!!!
That's four vehicle travel bugs (other than my own) that I know of. This is truly GeoCaching on the fly, opportunity for a find while out doing something else!

New vehicle on the road with markings that resembles a travel bug.
Figured I'd get the word out for one of my caching buds:
W'ar'sh Me (TB2AY98)... keep one eye open.

The Dog Box (TB33K49) got its first wash of 2010 today - just in time for more snow in the forecast... Note the TB number in the back quarterpanel window, above the gas cap door. No one's spotted this TB yet, but you'll have a chance at the EarthCache FUNdamentals Event on Thursday 15 April! I had to 'tag' this Jeep, as Mrs NorthWes drives my NitroCACHER to and from work now.

Well, it was dark... even though I was parked right under a street light I've even added a 3rd TB tag to the center of the tailgate. Though I have to fix up the 2 side window decals again. They don't seem to get through the winter very well. Thinking about putting them on the body instead of the glass as the one on the tailgate is doing quite well.

I washed my 1986 Chev. S10 Blazer once a year whether it needed it or not. That seemed to work, it is still in operation.

They don't seem to get through the winter very well. Thinking about putting them on the body instead of the glass as the one on the tailgate is doing quite well. I fix that problem on the windows by installing the TB symbol on the inside of the window, then having decals made (gee I wonder where) that are printed in reverse for the number, and I mount that underneath. Putting it inside makes it last longer & works great, unless your windowtint is overwhelmingly dark.

Looked at that, but my rear window tint is extremely dark. I do have a space on the "C" pillar behind the windows where they will fit and I still have a couple spare stickers ready to go.
Speaking of decals, I've got some Rock Juice pictures for you. I'll try to remember to get those wrapped up in an email tonight.
