I don't know if other cachers know this but looking at caches in Maryland I discovered google earth can measure distances in paths or lines. You click the tools menu and scroll down to measure. Maybe this can help with the Tour of Anchorage bookmark list?

Maybe this can help with the Tour of Anchorage bookmark list? The GC.com reviewers say google earth can be off by 100 feet, so if using it to hide a new cache be sure to consider that.

That is a neat tip! So far Google Maps seem to be pretty close but like Scobey said, it could be off by a lot. I have not used Google Earth much I use Topo, GSAK and mapsource right now.

It is pretty useful measuring trails and other non-geocache things.
