I can only have 10 caches in my pilot because it states I have an unregistered version. Does anyone have the ability to load more. Where do I go to have the added convenience. Thanks for the assist.

You have to pay $8 for the registration code. there main site is: www.smittyware.com/palm/cachemate/once you have it registered you can put in tens of thousands of caches.

I have a couple thousand caches in my Palm (yes, it's time to clean it out from trips to Southern Cal, the United Kingdom, and other parts of Alaska), so I think one is only limited by the amount of memory on the Palm or chip. The pdb files are pretty efficient...they all fit on a 16 MB chip for me with plenty of room to spare. One can get a registered version (or register the trial version) of Cachemate for $8 from the Smittyware.com website. Next to the $20 I think I spent for GSAK, this is the best $8 I've ever spent on geocaching.

The $8 is no problem. I will attempt once again. Thanks for the assist.

It was quite confusing and am still trying to figure the process. Ooops....Malcore beat me to the link post. My memory isn't the best, but I think this is what one needs to do: 1. Download the zipped Cachemate file from the Smittyware website to your desktop computer. When you do this, you'll get an e-mail telling you how to get a registration code from the Smittyware website once you have Cachemate installed on your PDA. 2. Extract the zipped Cachemate file on your desktop computer (creates a folder called Cachemate 4.1.2, or equivalent). 3. Launch the Palm software on your desktop computer. 4. Use the Palm software to copy the extracted Cachemate files to your PDA. At a minimum, you need to transfer CacheMate.prc. I also transfered the MathLib.prc plugin because it calculates distances between caches. There are other plugins, too, in the extracted "plugins" folder. 5. Launch CacheMate on your PDA. 6. Tap the top "Cachemate" menu, then select "Options," then "Register." You'll be prompted for the registration code. Hope the above helps. It looks like a lot, but will take about 10-15 minutes if all goes without a hitch.

Hmmm...might ping Lories and see if she paid for and got a registration code. If not, you should be able to click on the "Purchase" link near the bottom of the page to get a registration code. If you don't have the other plug-ins and want them, you might want to "Download" a fresh set of files, upload them to your PDA, and then "Purchase."

Powmia, you may have to reset the zire to get rid of all the stuff on there, and give the palm a new name - there is a pinhole on the back for reset. The new name will be needed for registering cachemate. Sorry i was not sure what was best to do. i actually have the registered version on the palm I am using. Sorry to have it confusing, but it was a little tricky to figure out and now at least you can see it there and how it works.
When you go to the smitty ware page, look on the left under Palm OS (blue letters) and click Cachemate. That will take you to a page, scroll down and there it says download or purchase. You need to load the Palm version not the Pocket PC one. Please email me if you like. Lori

OK. Did a reset. Got a new name. Paid 8 bucks. Got an email stating "thanks, your stuff will be sent soon". From there it will be all down hill (yeah sure) and soon the GOs for the big trip will be transferred ("that is impossible dude, you don't know where you are going") Oh yeah. Got a registration code. Entered it and got accepted into the club. Can transfer much more than 10 caches now (Tried it). Thanks everyone.
