I need new snowshoes. The ones I have shrunk and no longer support my weight on non tracked snow. Any ideas on an affordable yet nice pair? I use Tubbs. I have a set of expedition class 9"x30" I purchased about 10 years ago. Not a thing has broken on them yet. It is the only type I have used. They are lightweight (Tot 2.5 lbs/shoe). They have an outstanding deck material for extreme weather and terrain, and have a ratcheting quick release buckle system (for us old blind folks). There is a lifetime warranty. Price in 1996 was $259.00. However, as mentioned, I was out for the expedition class due to my journeys so I needed to expend the funds. I have hoofed with a combined weight of 250# (Me plus pack/equipment). Prices have come down a bit. However I would recommend any type/class of Tubbs. I got mine at REI
