You will notice I am picking up my caches, it is a good time to grab any of mine that you don't have. If you want any of my containers let me know and I'll archive the cache so you can go get it. I don't want 30 ammo cans I still would like to go out on group adventures, those are a blast.

Or, is it possible that an executive position has been obtained which does not allow one to "disappear" at will?

It takes a long time to recover from an achilles injury... Hopefully, the surgery went well! Get well soon Ole!!!

I thought I'd have a couple more years to cache out Anchorage and to sprinkle Oleruns caches throughout that time like a fine spice. Is it possible to raise the question of adoption rather than yanking them?

Glad we'll still see you at/on group adventures! I think your caching buddies would be dragging you out of the house if you were to completely disappear from the trail!

I am open but the areas are changing and in some places there are now better hides available. I had one offer to adopt today. Someone may want to place a cache in an area of one of my caches and now is the chance. It will be close to 2 months before I can get some due to the surgery. Trove Rover and Scobey ran me into the ground last year.

I don't know if you have any in the Butte area or on the Palmer side of the Parks highway, but I could look after those. Better yet, if you need a home for those ammo cans, I could use them, asit seems I am better at hiding caches than finding them.

But if you'd prefer to have them adopted instead of pulling them all out let me know and I would possibly adopt a few of them. Would hate to adopt some that I haven't found yet but I am sure there are some great ones out there. I had a achilles problem and didn't have to have surgery but took me about a year to be able to run any distance again. Loved to run but gave it up for bicycle riding and local racin. I was never fast at either, running or bicyling, sort of the middle to end of the pack sort of guy! Still am I guess!

Thanks! I used to run from cache to cache and then I injured both Achilles after making a dumb running mistake. I ran to the start of the heart run from my house, raced and then ran home after the race (15 miles total) then went on a semi-hard 20 mile run on the next day on the Mayor's Marathon course. This was on only on a 35 mile a week base. My right one hurt worse than my left so we put that one in a cast for 5 weeks then the other but the left never healed after 5 years of waiting and PT off and on it's time to try surgery. I am 50 pounds heavier now, I have my work cut out for me. Just a feeling and I don't have any fact for what I am going to say here: I really was mad when Pele was muggled in the middle of winter, I liked that cache. Then I lost a couple more but replaced those. I guess I am tired of replacing stolen caches. If it's a cache like Earth, Anchorage Sun, Malcore sees a Raven with Gas and one of them is missing, I expect that. (Malcore fell down once but wasn't missing) yet others pretty well hidden are gone, I don't get it. Like that rash of missing caches in Kincaid before the event, what's up with that? Looking at the rate of disabled caches in my inbox almost every day, that's too many to be muggles or windstorm. I was thinking of making all of mine premium and maybe that would slow them down. This is a sport for families and some don't have the means to pay to play and are using a hand-me-down GPS, I want it to be fun for everyone.
So I have been thinking what do I like about the sport? I love the cachers! Many of you have become great friends and I love caching with the groups by far #1 in my likes of caching.
I like going to new places doing new things like Acacherphobia (sp) what fun and to do it with a group.
I like going into the parks, so I will do those things and maybe host another 201 if people want to do that again?
That's my mind set at this time....
Thanks for listening ;D

Instead of having a free for all on Ole's cache's, why don't we put his caches that we have found on our watch list and take care of them while Ole is in his "Cacher needs maintenance" status. If we all picked 5-6 caches to watch and maintain til Ole is ready to come out of retirement it could work. We would just have to look at his caches and make sure it has 4 or so people watching it. I'm willing to babysit some, unless Ole really wants to get rid of his caches???

Count me in for maintaining a few too, but only if that is what Ole would like.

I too would be glad to help out. I would hate to see these caches disappear, there's a lot out there and me and Almeister always have fun searching for yours. Let me know, would be glad to help out in any way I can.

Hang in there Ole...Injuries are tough to deal with. I understand the frustration of disappearing caches.
If you just put caches on top of mountains and on the edge of cliffs they don't really disappear (except when destroyed by forest service. People are generally too lazy to carry them them away. If you must semi-retire, I would be willing to take care of a few of your mountain caches...However, I don't see you running up to "Mtboy needs something to do after work" anytime soon...so i guess it won't be archived ;D
I wonder if it is the curse of the runners calendar...similar to the sports illustrated or madden curse...your picture shows up on the anchorage runners calendar and WHAM! injury.
I think you can tell people throughout the community have appreciated your contributions. You are an asset to the entire community, not just the geocaching community. So take care of yourself.

That was quite a trip, one I am glad I got to take with oleruns. I hope recovery is quick, there are lots more peaks out there undiscovered and at least one more climbing cache we still need to get.
