We are camping out at the fair tonight, but that puts us by the red gate I think. We will high tail it to the purple gate as soon as we can get in and meet up witht he group on that side. We will be the ones in the RV lot with the huge red toy hauler trailer if anyone parks on that end and wants to meet up just come a knocking.

I have posted my pics from our hunt on Saturday the 25th in the Fair Play cache. Some of them aren't the best but they all bring back good memories for those of us that were there. Thanks to all of you, and especially Eagle618 for the awesome coins.

Well, in classic NorthWes fashion I showed up at the Fairgrounds today... a week after it closed! Was out Palmer way for the 'Palmer Invitational XC Meet'... and stopped off here on our way to the big event to nab Toepunch's "South Palmer Station" cache. For the record, let it be known that Mrs NW has declared the public restrooms here the Blue Ribbon Best in Show for All Alaska! Seriously - these are what wayside restrooms in Alaska should be - not portapotties and social footpaths where no one picks up after themselves (hey - if you can scoop Rover's poop... do the obvious for you too!). So, here's an offbeat "Kudo" for the Valley Cachers - best cache hide near the cleanest public restrooms in the state!!! Besides - Palmer's got the best skyline in SouthCentral Alaska - why, there's at least four benchmarks (ok, elevation stations...) in view anytime the clouds are above 5,000' & the sun's out!

There is a good set of restrooms in one of the Valdez corners. It was the place we used for our base camp as we went to find a cache out at Gold Creek - four hours in and no cache. Great hike though.

Hey Nate, when do we get to log the caches we found at the fair? Emailed all the cords to you, but haven't seen the caches submitted yet to geo caching for logging.

Good Question - we were under the assumption we would be getting points for all that hard work. So far we have scored one for State Fair and one for the station, but I too was hoping and under the impression that there would be points forthcoming. or was it all just a fun aventure?

Hey are we goin' to do this in '08? HeHe theres a funny story to this, I knew about this event about a month in advance as a muggle. The 'Grumby's' are family friends. I hope they do do it again it realy sounds like fun now that I'm out and caching.
