Have you come across a geocache that amazed, astounded or just plain 'blew your mind'? We want to highlight the best that Alaska geocaching has to offer, through our Geocache of the Month! There's no voting or exhaustive committee process. All you have to do is post a note on this post about a cache you think deserves the Geocache of the Month award. Tell us in around 50 words why you think it deserves the award. It doesn't have to be a geocache hidden or found in the past 30 days. At the end of the month we'll pick one of the geocaches mentioned and highlight it in the newsletter!!!

Love this idea and would love to chime in but our caching efforts have been nil lately.

I found a fun new tradition for Thanksgiving day. Go on a caching adventure.
Now this is why I don't go out there and just clean sweep an area of caches and turn them all into smileys in one swoop. I spent a wonderful morning and early afternoon with Lily driving around the Butte area grabbing a few caches before heading home to a football game and a turkey sandwich.
The stand out cache of the day was Nate Grumby and his Mrs. cache placed out at a hidden dirt runway in the Butte called "Maxima enim...pantientia virtus" GCY2BG. It's a simple two stage multi with only a short distance between the two. Both stages are easy to find but there's a simple but very enjoyable twist at the first stage. Can this possible keep going, was a thought that went through my mind. Yes it can. Almost seems you should get more than one smiley for a cache like this.
Thanks for a very fun and unique hide Grumby.
