Fellow Geocachers and Members of GeocacheAlaska! The October edition of the Around the State Newsletter was just published. It is available for direct download from our Newsletter Archive. In it you will find 11 action-packed pages of news and information about geocaching in The Great Land. It’s full of information from our club President, NorthWes and a very important segment from our local Greatland Reviewer in regard to Fall cache maintenance and land owner permissions prior to placing caches in remote areas. We are now accepting nominations for Vice-President, Treasurer, and 2 Members at Large for the 2015 Board of Directors. See details in this newsletter. The Alaskan Cacher’s Caching Achievements Top Ten list this month goes to the Alaskan caches with the most logged finds. Photo Contest deadline is rapidly approaching on October 19th! It is time to submit your photos to the annual photo contest, and the process for sending in your photos is explained by SSO JOAT. This issue has several great reports from recent events and caching travelogues from some of our members with lots of photos to check out. As always, all editions of our newsletter are available on our website at www.geocachealaska.org/newsletters.htmThank you to all the members who contributed content to this month’s newsletter and to our Editor down in Homer, the_Firefly, for making it pretty for us. You may send your feedback as well as just about any geocaching-related content to be placed in future editions by emailing it to editor@geocachealaska.org. Anyone is welcome to submit content for your newsletter, so consider writing up a couple paragraphs about a recent caching adventure along with a photo or two or maybe you have some neat tips and tricks to share. Whatever it is, write it up and send it in. We look forward to hearing from you! Warmest Regards, GeocacheAlaska! Inc. Board of Directors

So, there is an error in this edition of the newsletter (can you find it?). Our editor told us about a contest that was run with other newsletters she had worked with where anyone who finds a legit error in a newsletter and reports it would get their name put into a periodic drawing for a prize. I thought that was an interesting idea. What say you?
