Hi,
In September I'm moving to Munich to go to grad school there for two years, and I hope to stay in Europe indefinitely. I have 10 caches, 6 in the APU park and 4 in the Talkeetna area. Is anyone willing to adopt some of these? If you haven't found them already I would be happy to tell you the location or show you them in person. I plan to remove and archive the caches that aren't adopted because I won't be able to maintain them.

Are you on our Facebook Group? Might be worthwhile to spread the word over there as well. I might even suggest that you send a little blurb to the newsletter editor with a list of the 10 caches and it can be included in the July edition of the newsletter. If you're not on FB, I'd be happy to post an annoucement on there for you. Looking at your profile, here is a list of your caches... X Lake Traditional - Small 2/2.5 - Talkeetna Bear Country Traditional - Micro 1/1.5 - Talkeetna Rubberneck Point PREMIUM Traditional - Regular 1.5/2 - Talkeetna Christiansen Lake PREMIUM Traditional - Regular 2/4 - Talkeetna Pencil Cache Traditional - Regular 2/2 - Anchorage APU travel bug exchange Traditional - Regular 2.5/2.5 - Anchorage APU Music Letterbox Hybrid - Regular 1/2 - Anchorage Evergreen Traditional - Unknown 1.5/2.5 - Anchorage (Needs Maintenance) Buck Teeth Traditional - Micro 3/2.5 - Anchorage Mile 4 Traditional - Regular 1/2.5 - Anchorage

Congratulations, Knappling, on your ongoing life successes!
I'd be interested/willing to adopt the following with a "placed by Knappling, adopted by..." note:

Thanks ladybugkids! I sent you adoption requests for the three caches above.
SSO JOAT, I just asked to join the Facebook group, I'll post the listing there. If you give me the email or forum handle for the newsletter editor I'll send a blurb to be included in the newspaper.

I approved your FB Group membership about an hour ago, so you're good to post whatever you want on there. The FB Group has a much larger reach than these forums do.
The next newsletter will publish around the first of July. The editor needs content by June 25. I would suggest that you run down the other methods through that time. If you still have caches to adopt out come June 24th, write up a little notice and send it to editor@geocachealaska.org (there are also instructions on the 2nd page of the last newsletter about how to submit content).

Thanks ladybugkids! I sent you adoption requests for the three caches above. You are most welcome. I'm happy to keep these classic caches alive.
I did forget to ask...do your folks still live at Mile 4 and are they still all right with cachers lurking just outside their back fence?
Fuzzybelly may be a good bet for your Talkeetna hides. He goes up there often in the summertime.
Enjoy Germany. I hope you get to continue caching over there. The Mega Events are over the top with literally thousands of cachers attending and some of the caches there have more favorite points than the most favorite caches in the USA. Plus, the food, bier, and wine aren't half bad, either.
The link to the Newsletters is here.
If you want to keep up with the Alaskan caching scene, I encourage you to join GeocacheAlaska! as at least a free Cheechako member.

Well, I had to go take a look at the membership roster to confirm... Yes, you do need to sign up at least as a Cheechako (free) member of the club so you can be on our newsletter emailing list. Just go to www.geocachealaska.org/join_geocachealaska.htm and follow the directions.

I talked to my parents today and they are fine with cachers lurking outside our backyard indefinitely, and that another cacher will be taking care of Mile 4. I'm looking forward to doing some caching in Germany - it's an easy way to find interesting locations.

Thanks for that. Would hate to stir up some guy named Gunnar and have him come out with a gun. Being half-Scandinavian myself, I know how "they" can be.
Yes, check out the Germans' "Lost Places" caches. Oftentimes high terrain and high difficulty, they definitely go off the beaten path. Also, don't let some of the "epic" ten to twenty stage multis scare you off. Every single one that I have done in The Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland have taught me a lot about local history, local architecture, and/or local folk lore, during wonderful walking tours of the Altstadt areas.

Looks like the Facebook thing worked well. 9 out of 10 adopted so far.
