We have the etrex basic yellow is what GSAK list it as... and also a legend Hc that after trying to use GSAK to load down our databases of the caches we want on them, they have stopped working. GSAK or Basecamp both say done downloading to them but you unplug from computer and turn them off and on, and there is no geocaches on the device, but you plug them back into the computer and start either program and it shows that there are caches there on the device...Any ideas, suggestions? Thanks

If you're loading a GPX file from GSAK, make sure your GPX setting is for version 1.0 and NOT 1.1 or else the GPS will not be able to read it.

Another Garmin etrex question.... I've got the Legend HCx. How do I do a mass delete of the waypoints? I don't want to delete them one by one if I don't have to, and I can't help but think there is an easier way. Darned if I can figure it out, though.

There IS an easier way to delete them. I'll try to remember to grab my eTrex as I pass thru the house briefly tonight. If it's in my hand I'll remember how!

Thanks, Wes! Scott helped me figure one way out tonight. I'd love any other suggestions you have, too. More ways to the solution is not a bad thing. :-)

we still can't load anything up, and I can't see the gps as a drive to see if anything is corrupt, I have factory restored it and that didn't help... wife reminded me this is the second etrex that has done this, so we are down two gps

If you don't see it as a drive, then you probably have to load caches as waypoints instead of a gpx. You can open the gpx file from your PQ in MapSource or BaseCamp and then load the caches to the GPS from there.

It sounds like maybe you are using the wrong type of USB cable. Some cables will only pass power threw the cable and some will send data and power threw, there's usually no way of telling the difference between them. I had this problem a couple times because I have a bunch of cables laying around from different hardware and get them mixed up. Also if your using Windows, some times the device drivers will get messed up and not recognize the gps. You can go into the device manager and delete the drivers for the gps and then plug it back is and let it load the drivers again. If that don't work try connecting it to another computer and see if it recognizes the gps.
