Let's see if we can collectively write a short geocaching story for publication in "Around the State," the GeocacheAlaska! newsletter.
Just add one line to whatever has gone before, and keep the continuity of storyline and relevance. I'll start with:
It was a dark and stormy night and caches new were just published.
Okay, over to you. If we get a good continuity, I'll use the story in the newsletter.

It was a dark and stormy night and caches new were just published. "Cripes!" cried cavyguy - "Why can't these come out while I'm still in Anchortown?"

I chuckled because it was calling for a foot of snow and it was a winter friendly cache!!

That will make the Second an easy find. But what's this that I see? A new Puzzle on the Peninsula?

Like a child on Christmas morning, I could barely contain my anticipation, waiting to unravel whatever the cache description would provide. Surprisingly, the cache owner was not SSO JOAT.

And so,mayhem would begin, with Cavyguy waging a private battle in his mind, "do I chase the FTF, or solve the puzzle", and Coloreido basked only in the light from his laptop researching his attack plan, both trying to accomplish their tasks while dressing in their winter gear at the same time.

And we down in Homer shake our heads at all them, who search for caches placed up north once again.
So we dream of local caches that others will place, 'cause we want to play in the cache find count race.

NorthWes chortled with glee because the old-dated cache the Homerians didn't see... he'd placed it in summer and waited till now - and the cache was quite hidden in date stash and how...

Then with a "POP" over here, and a "BANG" over there, two more caches published this night, it was Homer and Soldotna for sure by the light, I new that thefirefly and JOAT would soon be to flight.

No settling down for a long winter's nap here! There are new caches (and old ones!) to find, trees to climb, coffee to drink, and hearts to not shrink! Cache on!

But wait! What is that? There is a hidden link on that page! Where does it go?

With a simple little "click" a colorful spinning light emited from the screen, enveloped the room around me, and.....

Along with a single recipe, which to my surprise, was grabbed by Coloreido, whom I hadn't realize was drawn into the vortex with me.

Unbenonst to Fuzzy, Coloreido wasn't drawn into the vortex, but dove in to grab and save his secret recipe for spam suprise that he had shaired with Wes few weeks before for a last day of the world event. So since the world didn't end, Coloreido had to get that recipe back to keep it a secret. The vortex must have worked it loose out of Wes'es pocket. But were is Wes in the vortex now??

Wes is getting a bit dizzy swinging around this Vortex, but he secretly thinks it may be better than coming out at full velocity on the slippery, slidy, polished icy ground.

Wait! Did someone say, "Pie"?

The pie gradually cleared my head of the effects of the vortex and I became aware of numerous people standing around me and a tailgate lying before me littered with large, round baked goods. As my senses sharpened and I began to recognize faces in the crowd, the air was suddenly filled with a mechanical hum intertwined with beeps and electronic songs as everyone quickly reached for their pockets. I too extracted my vibrating phone and glanced at the luminescent screen to see that a new cache was just published in Kincaid park. The next few moments were like a feeding frenzy.

first every cacher in the crowd, and at all the same time, as if having been assimilated like the Borg, looked down at their screens, looked up at one another from the corner of their eyes, and began, very slowly, while gaining speed up to a frenzy, backing out of the assembled mob and head towards the waiting georigs, which all had been left running in case of a scenario such as this where to occur.

All you could hear was doors slamming, horns blaring, and tires screeching as all the cachers sped their way towards the FTF, only to be slowed and stacked into a neat little line of slow moving rigs behind the first car to get out, Capsheldon(and we all know how slow he drives) in Burtonsinak's work van with tools and hardware falling out as he went.

A screwdriver? A box of freezer baggies? Ammo cans? Cacher cars stopped quickly to scoop up the TOTT that were scattering across the roadway.

The scene was the same in locations all over the state, the hillbillies hooped in their rig off Buffalo mine rd., Cavy and the Questings played bumper cars getting onto the Parks highway skidding to stops at each red light an burning tires at every green light, Neversummer called thefirefly down in Homer, and they casually debated who would be the carpool driver(this took quite some time as both cachers are so polite they couldn't make up their minds)"I'll drive no need for you to put the miles on your car", "Thank you so much for your consideration, but I've got new snow tires and we'll be a little safer" replied Firefly, it went on like this throughout the afternoon, davidaknz called a very important business meeting in Anchorage from his office in Juneau just so he had a reason to get in on the chase, and even way up in Fairbanks Fireman and Dragonfly rush to the airport, booking flights along the way, everyone with beliefs that THEY could be the FTF.

And then the 'ET's' showed up! Their evil smiling faces lighting the way...the redheaded one was driving while the other white knuckled the 'oh s??t' bars after the redheaded one was heard to make one of his infamous comments..." Not to worry...it's a good day to die!"

And so was born the title of their next evil hide cache placement... "It's a good day to die!"

Meanwhile, cachers from around the state continue their mad dash toward Anchorage. By road, by boat, by plane...
