We are heading to Alaska in July. The girls and I have a whole day to ourselves in Seward while dad goes fishing. Any suggestions of caches we should find? The girls are 8 and 15 (I won't tell you my age...LOL). Oh yeh, forgot to mention we will not have a car. Thanks for the help!

I'd just download everything in town and take them on one after the other. If you have all day, you can probably get everything in town. Depends on how far you want to walk as for your stopping point. Many of the caches in these kinds of little towns are on trails heading into the mountains and such on the outskirts of the town.

On your way to/from Seward, I recommend Cohofive's "Seward Highway Cache Tour." There are more than fifty caches along the highway at spots most people would never stop for. In Seward, if you want some scenery and like to hike, I recommend doing at least the first cache or two going up Mt. Marathon. Start with Jeep Trail 2 and go at least to You’ve Got to Climb at Least This Far
. Ridge Seeker's Trail of Two Lakes will take you on a nice trail close to town. A trip out to Exit Glacier would also be very nice, but you'd need a ride out there. If the weather is lousy, you can spend several hours indoors at the Sealife Center.

Thanks! We'll be arriving by boat and leaving by rail, so, unfortunately, the Seward Highway Cache tour is our However, we will be driving from Anchorage to Denali, so any recommendations along that route would be greatly appreciated.

Our "Parks Highway Caches (North of Talkeetna Turnoff)" list will give you a running start beginning about one hundred miles out of Anchorage. This list also identifies all the physical caches around Denali, but does not yet include the EarthCaches in the area, nor cover all the caches along the Parks Highway.
