Show of hands on who would be interested in assembling for a Spencer Glacier camping trip this summer? Perhaps the second weekend in July (9-10) or the second weekend of August (13-14).
If we can get at least 20 people to show up, we can get a group rate from the Alaska Railroad good for 10% off the ticket prices.
The standard trainfare is $64 per adult, round-trip, boarding at the Portage station.
To reserve the entire campsite with room for up to 25 people will cost a total of $100. With a group of 20, that translates to $5 per person.
I am planning another Spencer WS trip this summer regardless, but I figured I'd check and see if there is any group interest before I start firming up my own plans.

Oooo...this would be fun, especially during a sunny weekend.
I can't commit today, but will definitely keep it in mind.

Ugh. I just lost most of my time off for June and July due to a heavy project season at work. Going to have to re-eval the Kenai River event in July also. Pretty much kills a Spencer trip for me until August.

Is there any interest in Labor Day weekend for Sept 3-4 or 4-5? That's pushing right up to the end of the rail access for the season, hits hunting season, and will be cooler and probably raining... but I'm game.
August is not looking as keen for me anymore either as I have family visiting from down in America during the first 2 weeks, plus the Valdez event, etc.
