Congratulations to Ladybugs-V - Miss Victoria Malvick - who earned the 3rd place spot on the winners podium of the Junior World Sled Dog Championships held here in Anchorage across 3 days of racing! (Feb 18-20, 2011)
Three-day total times
2 Dog Class (2.3 mile) -- 1) Kenzie Barnhart 24:54; 2) Stacy Sterling 25:48; 3) Victoria Malvick 26:02
Anyone who's geocached with Mike Malvick knows about his kennel's endurance and energy level. Victoria parlayed those dogs' abilities into a 3rd place finish against competitors who draw on the resources of much larger racing kennels based here in southcentral Alaska. Her team's time was only 69 seconds out of winning first place across three days of racing! Good job, Victoria!!!

Here's photos of Victoria in action... ( courtesy of her dad - I beat him to posting!) Day Two - race start - hard to say who of the three are having more fun, eh? Day Three - crossing the finish line only five seconds off the leader's mark for the day! Doesn't this look like a blast? We're all proud of you!
