During the January Board of Directors meeting, Member at Large SSO JOAT (Scott Aleckson) was selected to Chair the Education Subcommittee this year.
Based in Soldotna, Scott served as a member of the 2010 Education and Outreach Committee.
A change in committee structure was implimented by the Board during the January meeting. The By-Law mandated Education and Outreach Committee was given a group of subcommittees to address specific areas: Membership, Events, Fundraising, & Education. Control of the overseeing Education and Outreach Committee remains with the Board of Directors at this time.
The primary focus of the Education committee at this point is continuing with the WebEx broadcasted "Eduvents". The makeup of the 2011 Education committee is now underway. Anyone wishing to assist with this committee should contact SSO JOAT and/or post your interest here.
Ongoing business and discussions for the Education Subcommittee will take place on this board. All GeAK members are welcome to join in open discussions.
Wife has chemo the date of the GeoFundamentals, I will talk to her and ask if I need to be here at home with here for a couple of hours and then I can possibly help with the training. I have started a PPP and just need a few more hours to tweak it. How long do we get for the "class" portion so I can taylor it to the time frame. Thanks
What do you mean you found it already... I looked in that location, are you saying I am blind...! Just my luck... li1gray
The "class" should target about 30-40 minutes of formal presentation. This allows for a few minutes of administrative stuff before and a period of Q&A afterward without us running beyond the self-imposed 8pm End of Event time.
I've been separately outlining the presentation as at our last comm the PPT hadn't been started yet. If you could email me a copy of the current state of your PPT, I'll mesh it with what we need to try and cover.
It will be fine to run a "tag team" presentation or sub it out entirely.
