Unless you have served, this might not mean much to you. I spent 20 year training soldiers for the ultimate: that we might some day see action. I left active duty before I saw any action and joined the Alaska Army National Guard. I retired once again before I saw action. It was a very long time after the Viet Nam War that I finally forgave myself that I had not gone there. I knew that if I had gone, I probably wouldn't have come back and I was plaqued by guilt for many years because so many died but I lived. I didn't see Viet Nam War movies for years after they came out because of my guilt. I also didn't read about the war although there were several good books which I have subsequently read. I was very proud when my comapny from the 101st Airborne Division went to Iraq but have been saddened like everyone else by the deaths that have resulted. This[/b] is a very cool TB. I have ordered 5 tags/geocoins and will release 1 for SSt Davis of Anchorage and 1 for Sgt Stenroos of North Pole, 1 for a random Alaska based soldier and 1 for a random 101st Airborne soldier. The seller of the geocoin has offered to make the tag to attach to the geocin for each of these. 17 Alaskan residents have died in Iraq. It would be cool to memorialize each of them with a TB. Order the geocoin here.Sorry ! And Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the information on this tag and your story Scobey. I have purchased three. One of these tags will be released for a SPC Adare Cleveland from Anchorage, AK. He was killed on 19 February 2007 by an VB IED. I had the privilage of escorting his mother and family thru the Casualty Assistant Program. I have become a friend of the family and it has changed my outlook on assisting, and training young Warriors for war.
